Strip Paula Vennells of her CBE

    convened.
In 2019, a class action case, Bates & Ors v Post Office Ltd, was settled by the Post Office in favour of the 550 sub-postmasters for over £58 million.
Mr Justice Fraser, the judge in the case concluded that the approach of the Post Office: "amounted, in reality, to bare assertions and denials that ignore what has actually occurred, at least so far as the witnesses called before me in the Horizon Issues trial are concerned. It amounts to the 21st century equivalent of maintaining that the earth is flat."
Mr Justice Fraser, so concerned by what he had seen in the case, has passed a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions. In the Lords, Baron Arbuthnot of Edrom said in November 2019: "My own suggestion is that the government should clear out the entirety of the board and senior management of the Post Office and start again, perhaps with the assistance of consultancy services from Second Sight, who know where the bodies are buried.".
Having been handed a CBE for services to the Post Office, and moved out into other senior positions in government and healthcare, it is only right that this award is now withdrawn through the process of forfeiture.
Paula Vennells has subsequently refused to answer questions from these staff as well as the media and has refused to apologise for the cover-up, misery and trauma caused which has brought not only herself but the Post Office, the honours system and government into disrepute.

A lot more than stripping that bitch of her honours needs to happen, so far, no Post Office or Fujitsu executives have been held accountable or punished for what happened. In fact, Fujitsu continues to cash in on government IT contracts and former Post Office CEO Paula Vennells walked away from the organisation in disgrace with a huge payout. The only people who have been punished are the victims of the scandal.

Peoples lives were shattered, both personally and financially and this has been going on for over 20 years during which time some have died without compensation or having had their names cleared - its been called the biggest miscarriage of justice in British history although the disgraceful handling of the contaminated blood episode is arguably worse.

This podcast is well worth a listen.

The way the Royal Mail treated their sub post masters was scandalous.

More than 700 Post Office branch managers were accused of wrongdoing after faulty accounting software made it appear money was missing.

The Met said it was investigating possible fraud offences from these cases.

It comes as 50 new potential victims of the scandal have contacted lawyers following an ITV drama about the issue.

Neil Hudgell, a lawyer who acts for claimants, told the BBC that some of those seeking advice were former sub-postmasters who were prosecuted by the Post Office.

The Met Police said the potential offences could have been related to "monies recovered from sub-postmasters as a result of prosecutions or civil actions".

The force has already been looking into potential offences of perjury and perverting the course of justice in relation to investigations and prosecutions carried out by the Post Office.

    1. 1.2 million signatures and this happens..
It comes after former minister David Davis called for Post Office branch managers involved in the scandal to be exonerated, saying they should be able to submit a "mass appeal".

    2. Post Office minister wants compensation sorted by August, Tory MP says

Earlier today, Tory MP and former cabinet minister Paul Scully spoke to the BBC about the position many of the Post Office scandal victims have been left in.
"These are people's lives," he told BBC Two's Politics Live programme, saying some of those affected had now died, left the country, or even be "chased out of their villages".
Pressed on when those wrongfully convicted may hope to receive the compensation they're entitled to, Scully said it was his understanding that Kevin Hollinrake, the current Post Office minister, "wants [that] done by August this year".
Last September, the government announced that Post Office workers who've had convictions for theft and false accounting overturned would be offered £600,000 each in compensation.
