AO, just for reference here is a photo of what size the moon really is in comparison to trees and other foreground features when taken through a 300mm Equivalent telephoto lens (taken just before dawn on the waning crescent last week on my Olympus OMD E-M5)

You need a very steady hand rest for those settings at 276mm equivalent
Just grab the infinity focus and exposure from the moon and then adjust the frame
Anyway, while I am here, here is the same photo taken at 24mm wide angle equivalent for AO's atrological edification in photographic foreshortening...!
