That looks lovely . . . one of the things I miss living in NZ is that the oldest building dates back to 1975

Really? I would never have guessed that. Why is it so?

Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit. But yes, even the Maori presence in NZ is quite recent and they didn't have an architectural era

    Underneath the gumtree,
    Is where you'll find me,
    Curled up in me swag,
With some ants biting my ballbag

Took a camping trip up the QLD coast to break up the monotony of lockdown.

^ Awesome shots and brings back memories.

Scaled them all except for Mt Coonowrin (top photo, in front of Mt Beerwah) due to Salmon's Leap.

If you want a different view, have a stroll up Wild House Mountain (eastern side of the Highway) and have a chat with the forest ranger whose job it is spot the fires in the surrounding pine forests.

The sunset Photo #2 is epic ... I assume taken from Mt Ngungun ?
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

^Cigar for Dave the Rave who is bang on the money.

Lovely spot for a tour with the windy roads through the Mary River Valley

It would take some cunning ingenuity and a big pair of mangoes for anyone to get up Mt Coonowrin I reckon

Not too difficult...just dangerous because of loose rocks. One guy who climbed it illegally (it's closed now) knocked off one as big as a fridge.

I used to climb up the front face of Tibrogargan no probs, and abseil down.

It appears to be an interesting climb.

The only problems that put me off in Oz is the snakes and poisoness insects.

Climbed the Grampians a couple of decades back, but that was easy compared to some of the climbs in Oz.

Kudos to the Dancer if he has dragged his arse up the wrong end of that pointy bastard.

My legs are still recovering from my epic death-defying scaling of the 253m Mount Ngungun.

(I hope Katie is not reading this)

It was Tibrogargan I used to do, via the caves route (RH side). Not too difficult, actually. I may go back some time and do it without any gear. Those caves are really quite big once you get up in there, and one has a huge rock arch inside it. There used to be a large beehive attached to the ceiling of another.

A green for anyone who can tell me why this sleepy little temple in Nakhonratchasima province became known around the world in the 1970s.
