Took a good bike ride today and I pass this vista everyday as I cycle to work , so today I had time to capture this lovely area in the Walton on the naze backwaters.

When I get a bit more time I shall sit here and do an oil painting .

I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

Like you n&j, I was cycling this weekend. 28 & 29 July 2012: Participated in a club mountain bicycling ride with the Bangkok Hash House Bicyclers on this weekend. We met at the "Fire Fly Chalet" in Khao Kheow (show in this photo) and rode the off road and mountain roads in the area.

Thankyou for all the comments above , surprised no one's asked how I did it ,, but mabe you already guessed it lol.

Asta ,, in the far right horizon you can see our biggest container port Felixstowe .

BTW a little more info on the view, the yard from where I work from is about 1000 metres to the left of the pic ,, and goes down to about the level of the wheat field you can see,, HOWEVER very soon about to that line of trees you can see behind the wheat the sea is to be allowed in to flood the land , this is going to be a huge flood plain apparently to help ease the rising sea levels in this area .

Green returned ST for your lovely green pic , and yes its great to have the camera with you on your cycle rides , its great to be able just to pull up and enjoy the moment , also cycles give you a whole new area of access

just a thought, years ago someone asked what its like riding [m/c] a bike, a strange question i thought, but when you reason the fact that so many convey themselves in cars, so really everything just passes them by, they miss all the good [and sometimes bad] things, smells, wind etc..how i replied to their question, well, it sort of sitting down and watching a movie, or being in the movie..i love the physical factors of 2 wheels..the old pushie is more zen i think, more in the moment of things and not just belting past at a great rate of notes..good on ya fellas keep up the good work and travel safe

Thanks ned for the inspiring pep talk. 2 wheels, either motorized or not, adds a new perspective to the ride.

n&j, your did it with a panoramic feature on your camera right?

It's just the picture/pixel size setting. 16:9 or something like that,
although that does look much wider than any settings I've got.
Great for taking pics to put in your digi picture frames or for use as wallpaper.

^ Not quite Rob ,,, its my first go at photo stitching ,, ST will be in slumberland now but no doubt will take a peak tomorrow

I am quite pleased with the results 3 pictures into one ,, I know you should use a tripod really but I supported my camera on a bench , used my frame levels in my screen to help me , then just overlapped each frame by about 30% as I panned around. Then got it into Photoshop repositioned it all then of course with 3 pics I had a large file , so resized it down to put on here

I have also done an edited version of this same pic , looks like an illuminated from above with lights in the sky at night pic ,, mabe a bit far out for on here

    Bring it on !

Guessed your original was a stitched up photo - though it's nice and seamless
    have never tried it myself
I downloaded Photoshop a while ago , but the whole prog looks too intimidating.
Without reading the instructions ,and that's not going to happen

I put your photo through my Easy HDR Pro prog
It LDR it and 100 % tone mapped it -what ever they are
then i messed about with a colour graph,
    eventually I noticed a special ''Yorshire-isation '' filter,
promising to replace Constables hay fields with rich heather, and also rusty docks with lofty pit 'eds.
apologies for the butchery in advance...

Far out... reminds me of that time I overdone it at Santa Pod

Have to say that most quick post processing software is as subtle as a poke in the eye.. can't beat Photoshop for quality results.. although the learning curve was far too steep for me. I just use them for straightening and cropping and hope the camera settings do their bit.

Perhaps if Bobcock or KW happen by they can explain that highlighting trick using layers, or perhaps point us to the thread. I'm sure it was one of Bobcocks pictures, a monkey in a dark temple room with it's face highlighted that was used to demonstrate it.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

The stitching concept I've heard of but never pursued the art of doing so. In the same respect I do not have Photoshop so I'm guessing it would be a worthless attempt to even consider.

Nice photo anyway. Good on you n&j...
