don't laugh, but we were married in the Thai Embassy in Shanghai, and that is exactly what happened.

All my father mother details are in the marriage cert under her name, and all of my mother and fathers details are her family...

I am English and my fathers name is "Bok (illegible) Monwai"

In fact most of their family details when translated by the Thais for the purpose of marriage are "illegible"

Mr. and Mrs Illegible...according to the translation..father illegible.. mother illegible...and the Thai government STAMPS THIS SHIT AS A REAL TRANSLATION....

Look at your embassy website there you will find the rules for sure. They will have to give you a certificate which the TH government rules require. All certs need to be translated in Thai and signed by the TH ministry of foreign affairs as well. Find a broker, safes a lot of aggravation.:UK:

The only reason why i mentioned it was because i read somewhere, it may have been here, to mention that you are single to save the hassle. But since reading the posts, i phoned my mother to ask her about my divorce papers who coincidentally put them to one side knowing that i would need them.

Good point, you will receive a Thai marriage certificate (two as a matter of fact) it's called a NS 2 it has nowadays a red border. Ask for a copy of the NS 3 as well, that's the one accepted if you want to register your marriage at home (where the old bag lives??). Have it signed and stamped. They are computerised unlike before, all was written in a big book which I had to bring to a copy shop 500 mtr. down the road because the amphur did not have a copy machine. Trust me you'll need it.:ourrules:
