Where do you live and how long have you lived there?
If it is in Thailand, why don't you tell us of the fine quality of Thai made products.
I have built and maintaines a house here for the last 10 years, all electrical construction components are trash, Thai labor and chraftsman ship is trash.
Thai made plumbing components, fittings and valves are trash.
Thai automobiles and motor products are trash.
There is no such thing as quality products made in Thailand, some things you buy will work for sometime, law of averages says so, but not because of craftsmanship.
Try to get the guarentee backed up, damn seldom will happen, bought a new battery for my Honda steed, lasted a month, went back and said it don't work and supposed to have a 1 year guarentee, had it a month, well the guarentee is only for a month so you will have to pay for new battery.
WAll socket plug ins work sometime 1 time and some for a month, Valves work for a short while and then freeze up.
Now suppose you tell us about all the fine service and supplies that you pay for that are as good as those made elsewhere.
How about your fine UBC, or your High Class service and operation of something simple like INTERNET.

I know thats bullshit, Internet is down way to much, and I have had a lot of different connections and none are really good and dependable.
UBC was OK years ago, but never good, then about 5 years ago it started to change hands about every month, change of programs, never works in the rain, always fucked up, now I have Sat, cheaper, works rain or shine and has dependable program services.
Anything you buy that is made in Thailand is a gamble, some will not work when you get them home and some will work only a short time and some are Ok, but never exceed expectations.

Maybe I was away on business and did not experience problems if indeed there were any.

You may find that ALL the top sportswear brands will disagree with you BG. The Made In Thailand label is a mark of quality.

Internet: I spend 16 hrs (average) per day online and have had no problems. I can only speak from the service and quality I receive.

12Call...the fact is that the internet here is shit. You'll never get the speed you pay for, they don't publish contention ratios here due to how many people share a single connection. They don't want you to know.

I have to use TOT phone lines, with CSLox info. as my ISP. No choice. Connection drops several times a day, I never get my paid for speed except for short periods, then it disconnects and when I reconnect it will be at a slower speed. I can't change to a different phone company, there's no choice. I'm told the phone company TOT knows the line quality is dire in my street, but they've no plans to put new lines in...

So, I'm really happy you've got a good service, but you are a rarity. Try logging into your router to see what speeds you're really getting...

I live in central Bangkok btw...not out in the boonies.

The garment & furniture industries don't require a great deal of ingenuity...

Things that require a bit of planning seem to be the Thai's downfall...

    Case in point:

All of those spagetties, esp along the Sukumvit rd will be underground soon, as they are in talk about it, ....along with creating the openspace corridor on both sides of the road, and oh the building of the flood wall/berm around the city.

They are in the talks seriously and expecting to pass pretty soon here.

I'm no expert on inet speeds and the rest of the jargon. All I know is that I turn the laptop on, it connects and I'm online.

It's not just in Bangkok, but just about every place I've been in Thailand... Granted, it's worse in some areas, but I was just trying to make a point...

Even if they do approve burying the mess underground, how long do you think it will take??? Decades perhaps... If the length of time it's taken the Thai government officials to get the stretch of Thap Piraya road between Pattaya & Jomtien completed, it could take lifetimes...
