The Camry is not a high end model or even a luxury car despite what you might think.

It is a cheap run-of-the-mill 4 cylinder front wheel drive saloon.

Sorry, I can't give you links to Wikipedia as I am giving you the benefit of my experience in the Thai motor industry over a ten year period as well as my experience of over 15 years in the business.

The models built in Thailand are nearly all available for purchase in Thailand.

None of the Toyota or Honda models made in Thailand are top end. The 6-cylinder models are usually imported and are therefore costly.

The locally produced materials are not of sufficient quality therefore only a few models are assembled in Thailand from imported parts.

The models assembled here are chosen for local consumption and for export to neighbouring countries.

    Up to you.

I wouldn't call a fwd 4-cylinder anything other than a low end model, but then again I don't think the insertion of an LCD screen in the dash and creme leather seats is sufficient criteria.

You've been known to have made erroneous statements about the Camry in the past however.

I have lived with and worked with Thais for over 20 years (and this discussion come up in a production meeting the other day) and that is Thais never seem to finish anything off 100%.

That is the be all and end all of the problem with their labour here, not necessarily their products and that is the Nit Noi symdrome ( a little bit = close enough). Too lazy to finish anything off (Kee-kiat) I think was the description I used in the meeting.

Our downtime in the factory you can blame 100% on the engineers for not finishing off the production tooling correctly and you will find this problem all over Thailand affecting every service.

If the car I bought yesterday is low end something is very wrong.

My car must be a gas guzzler whose air conditioning system cannot cope with the Thai heat 350 days a year I guess.

You are entitled to your opinion tud, but the fact remains not many would agree with you.

It is not about agreeing or disagreeing, it is about the fact that a fwd 4-cylinder saloon is not anywhere near top end.

It is what it is, a middle of the road, four door purposeful saloon car.

Nothing wrong with them, but let's not all get carried away.

Yes, but it was also made for export as the box looks like it was for sale down at the corner shop in my home town in the Ochoco mountains of central Oregon.
and happens to be the only thing I have bought Made In Thailand that is really worth a [at][at][at][at] full of cold piss.

Not my job to educate you. Besides you've a propensity for dishonesty in the face of your errors.

The Thais have a poor eye for detail. Combined with the 'concrete head, I know-it-all' syndrome, it is a recipe for disaster.

I will never gain commission a Thai company to build me specialist products. Even their leading brand names, are incapable.

Their economy of the truth also lets them down time & again. Let's say nothing of 'copy & manufacture'. Ethics is a huge problem. Thais are thieves.
