Anyone is allowed to post the truth but in a defamation case the defendant needs to prove they had a valid reason to print/post their comments and that it doesn't defame the plaintiff.

For example, when the Bangkok Post printed pictures of the cracks in the suvarnbhum airport runway and Thaksin sued the journalist and publisher for 500 million baht each, Thaksin would have won the case if it hadn't been settled out of court because although the paper had a valid reason to print the pictures (news paper) the pictures damaged the image of the country and it's political leader at that time.

How many posts are there a month, compared with say a year ago? I see on another forum posts are down about 50% over last year and hardly anyone is ever logged in (thai360) what are you doing right that others are not doing, or cannot be bothered to do?

Sure they are, but I thought it was amusing that you were saying one of TD's strengths is its generally light moderation (I agree with that BTW) in a thread that has been highly moderated; especially since most of the purged comments were by the OP of this thread who also happens to be owner of the site!

Still, good to see that TD has healthy visitor numbers, I hope they are translating into ad revenue that at least lets it breaks even if not making a huge profit for DD, although I certainly wouldn't begrudge him that if it were.

I can check but it really isn't worth it, in the big scheme of things we have say 1 million posts that are able to be indexed by search engines, out of that 1 million there are only a few thousand that google etc consider important, ie the td lounge has a few hundred thousand posts, out of them google might think 10 are important or informational, 30 word posts does not impress google etc, yes they are indexed but who is going to search for ladyboy sex in Nakhon nowhere?
