    Run, Baby!

These Two Have Been Mentioned Before.

A heavily pregnant woman and her fiance have gone on the run after social workers threatened to take away their baby at birth.

Kerry Robertson, 17, and Mark McDougall, 25, had been told that she was not bright enough to raise their child and that they would have to give him up.

It was another blow for the couple, whose wedding this year was halted just 48 hours before the ceremony in a row over whether Miss Robertson was intelligent enough to marry.

Miss Robertson, who is 29 weeks pregnant, has since been told the couple will be allowed only a few hours with their baby - a boy they have already named Ben - before he is taken into care and placed with foster parents.

Desperate to keep their family together, the pair fled their home yesterday for a secret safe house.

    Full Story

I wish them all the luck in the world.

And hey, Scrotum Dog, you still standing by your accusation that the guy is a sex offender?

Well if they have decided that she is too stupid to look after her own baby the next step of course will be should stupid people be allowed to procreate, sterilisation at birth for stupid people?

do you have to be bright to raise a child? maybe the care workers have issues with their own parents

as for Mark, I wonder why he is happy to be with a mentally deficient girl

Recalling information accurately isn't a strong point of yours it appears.

Ironically running away just goes to prove the accuracy of the assessment...

Yeah, go on the run, with your heavily pregnant girlfriend...what a brilliant idea! I'm sure the newborn will be well looked after...

So far I was with you but this is only brutally cynic. A young couple driven to despair is running away. What proves your point there?

You really are quite an unpleasant guy. Pray tell, what do you do for a living?

As to the rest of it, I'd already replied to your idiocy elsewhere. If you are too stupid to recall accurately what I wrote, then that's not my problem.
"Slavery is the daughter of darkness; an ignorant people is the blind instrument of its own destruction; ambition and intrigue take advantage of the credulity and inexperience of men who have no political, economic or civil knowledge. They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

    Better than you!

I work in sales & have recently started my own sales business, which I put time into when I can.

What do you do, third-word prostitues & drink all day?

You know full well what you said & denying it doesn't make it untrue.

The local social services department had sought to block their wedding and remove the child.

This would've required months of assessment, reports, liaisons with various other professionals and going to court to obtain care orders and putting a stop to the wedding, is a most unusual procedure and something I've never heard of before.

It's very time consuming and very expensive. Never undertaken lightly.

Most cases like this are extremely difficult to prove and most end up with the social services departments losing.

It is enshrined in law that the best interests of the child are to remain with its parents. Research has shown this and the Childrens Act also stipulates that the best interests of the child are paramount.

With this background, it is obvious that there exists a really serious problem in this relationship and because of confidentiality, one that cannot be broadcast to the public.

The girl was assessed to have learning difficulties. So is liable to have an impairment related to learning or understanding. Again we have to speculate about this. But if she failed "Gillick competency" plus IQ and caring assessments, then the Social services department are left with little choice. Suffice to say, this is all done within a legal framework.

The Social services department then have to go to court and prove their case. 3 barristers are present, one for social services, one for the parents and one independently appointed to represent the unborn childs best interests. The case must be proven, as in all cases. The judge will make the ultimate decision based upon the evidence and counter arguments presented. A judge....not social services.

Now, where DJ ran into problems, was with my assessment of the gentleman concerned. Legally he could marry her and become the legal guardian/parent for the child, but social services blocked that. Highly unusual to say the least. The only reason they could go to court and have this happen is if there is some confidential information on this guy. Something which can never be publicly released.

I speculated on why a 25 year old man would want to be involved with a girl who's mental age would be lower than 17...DJ jumped to conclusions and continues to display a total lack of integrity and honesty. Or is he just mind bogglingly dumb?

Finally, why would going on the run be a problem? Well, if you read the above and understand they are breaking the law, it means the police will be after them, they can not work, wont be able to settle anywhere and will have no source of income. They are being highly irresponsible, bearing in mind she is heavily pregnant. Raising a child under such circumstances might be somewhat problematic, I'd suggest....

Firstly, I'm not working as a forensic psychologist anymore....so you've forgotten that bit. FYI, I used to help to protect the vulnerable in society by keeping dangerous people off the streets. But it's ok, no need to thank me.

Secondly, You don't know what I do for a living at the moment. The reason I drink occasionally is because I'm on holiday. 2 days this week. And the comments about whores is banter between myself and another board member. A lot of it is piss taking. The truth would probably surprise you greatly. You know nothing about me and I intend to keep it that way. I think you have a few things you need to work out....

Finally, I said he has some interesting issues...you jumped to conclusions. I agree with your conclusions.

Wrong on all 3 points. Way to go fuckwit.

    What do you call this?

I would further point out, a 25 year old male choosing to have sex with an emotionally and intellectually very young women has some interesting issues and is highly unlikely to be attracted to such sorts of girls just for her looks...trust me, he has some "interesting" shit going on....and it is not nice....
    Now this...

the police will be after them
    Means nothing.

    they can not work
    Of course they can.

wont be able to settle anywhere
They'll be two doors down from the mother.

    no source of income
    Are you mad?

    They are being highly irresponsible
When handing over your child, never to see it again is the alternative, they have no other option.

Raising a child under such circumstances might be somewhat problematic, I'd suggest....
    They'll be fine.

For a self-proclaimed 'expert' on matters, you actually know absolutely nothng!

No, I know absolutely everything about these matters. You'd be very surprised about the work I've done if you knew the truth.....and you might have a little bit more respect.

Your ignorance is all you have, so I'll forgive your misinformed diatribe.

    Oh, sales? Figures.

I call that proving my argument. At which point did I explicitly label him a paedophile?

I have no idea what you're on about & as much interest in your life as the last third-world prostitute you nailed.

Can I ask what were you implying then?
