Star wars fans what do you think about this?

I like the idea myself, if just for a bit of fun.
Star Wars: Uncut trailer shows off crowdsourced remake

A trailer for Star Wars: Uncut, the huge crowdsourced re-imagining of George Lucas’s 1977 sci-fi classic Star Wars: A New Hope, has been released.

Star Wars: Uncut Trailer from Casey Pugh on Vimeo.

The enormous project is the brainchild of one Casey Pugh. He has divided the film up into 2,161 separate 15-second scenes, and asked web users to choose one to shoot.
The fans then have 30 days to film the scene, in whatever fashion they like. Stop-motion, live action and computer animation are all on display in the trailer; Mr Pugh says “the more creative, the better”, and suggests flipbooks and animated ASCII art as possibilities.

He hopes to have the film completed by December. The trailer claims that it is the "biggest fan recreation in the universe".
The trailer is just one minute and 59 seconds long, but is packed with tantalising details. Highlights include a cleverly filmed sunset, which manages to recreate Tatooine’s twin suns, and Darth Vader solemnly telling a grinning toddler that “your powers are weak, old man”.
Honourable mentions go to a computer keyboard that is used as the Death Star’s trench-and-turret-riddled surface, some clever use of Lego, and what appears to be Jabba the Hutt painted on someone’s thumb.
Of the 2,161 scenes, 417 have already been completed. A further 1,580 have been commissioned and are being made, and just 164 are free.
Excitingly, several people are allowed to make different versions of the same scene, so viewers can watch a different crowdsourced Star Wars every time.
Mr Pugh says that there will eventually be a rating system, so that viewers can choose their favourite scene-by-scene remakes.
All of the so-far-created scenes can be watched at the Star Wars Uncut website.

I thought Star Wars went downhill when Captain Kirk got fat and they got that bald guy ...Frog if I am not mistaken.

and then they started complicating things that were once only Vulcans and Klingons with Jedi and Skywalker and Christopher Lee in a bondage outfit...

Fighting with 15W flourescent tubes from Sylvania, when Captain Kirk fucked em with his phaser!

Lucas, LUCAS used to make the lights for Fords, so that is where he ties in with the flourescent boys, Sylvania....Why didnT LUCAS develop a better lightstick?

A 15W Sylvanian War Sword against a 35 Watt Philips....

Luke Skywalker would have cut him down using the Panasonic low Wattage, 8W (non outdoor)(not to be used on a DIMMER) short spiral bulb! Hail Luke Skywalker - by the way Like Carrefoure have a discount...55Baht for an 8 watt light sabre!

Vengenace shall be mine Luke Skywalker, I hold before me a radiating TV Valve and a 300 Watt green spotlight bulb, (like the one my stupid father mounted behind the fish tank, before it gave way and killed the fish and shrunk the 80% Wool carpet.) and by the force, you and that [at][at][at][at] Harry Potter will be banquished for etrnity...unless youve got 50 baht for a beer!

No, the 55 Baht Carrefoure light sabres, only guarantee to disable, or wound, for 55 baht they wont kill, you have to buy panasonic or GE for 200 baht... these especially the Pansonic will cut them dead!
