Huge benefits? I think that you are mistaking the US for the UK... Our national health system is the 'pay or die plan'.

The only real advantage he has back in the US, is that his age won't be as much of an issue there. Not only will he be allowed to work, he'll be expected to work!

Actually did this for a very short time. Walmart pays better believe me, It's all scab work and the pay is shit. Haulin' rocks and dirt local, that's where the money's at. Maybe I should hook 'im up with some old friends of mine? Drive a differnt, nice car every trip. No loading. Excellent pay. Some risk ;)

Since it's so easy to get a truckin' job back in the states I've actually given it some thought to do it 6 months out of the year. I figure I could make about twice or more what I would teaching English for 12 months. Then just live in Thailand on a 6 on 6 off schedule. ;)

Its very sad.
Surely he'd be better off to get another job in Thailand for five years. Not everywhere enforces the 60 rule, does it?

Boy, that plan would suck big-time for me.
When I decide to shut it down (soon) it's 100% Thailand for me.
I have no intention of ever moving back to the states.

I hope he has family or VERY good, old, friends to help him get adjusted, if he can adjust. Comming back to the "KINGDOM OF G. BUSH" at his age is going to be an EXTREMELY shocking....!!! It shocking enough to live here now, with money or not..!!!! Perhaps he could get a job teaching English to Thai's in a large city with a large Asain population, good luck....BTW, Dirty Dog, did you get caught up in the Ladyboy round up in Pattaya??? As always, "regrets I had a few, but I did it "MY WAY"......

Khun Dirty Dog, please give me the definition of "Teflers", that's a new one to me...

Teaching English as A foriegn Language I believe, but it's not like they got proper qualifications or anything, it's a bit like passing your car driving test and then thinking you are a qualified racing driver.
