I'm not moralizing at all, I simply made three points.

1. Those who wish to spend their time in Thailand whoring, indulging in alcohol abuse, drugs or other illegal activities should just piss off.

2. Sex tourism is exploitative, socially damaging and culturally demeaning and those who want to buy sex should do so in their own country.

3. Tourism is not about going on a rampage through other people's country and those who cannot go abroad without behaving badly should stay home.

KM: I've never seen such a place just heard tales of brothels for tuk tuk drivers. Women are trafficed to London and held against their will by pimps. If it can happen in England it isn't a wild leap of fantasy to believe that it goes on in Thailand. However you are right that urban myth and expat gossip cloud the real nature of the problem.

ET: A part timer is surely repulsed by his/her johns but even if they are selling their body to survive if they are not forced to work by a third party they retain free will and freedom of choice. A person held captive in the manner I described does not.

Not true, there has been farang here since the beginning of world travels, just not in the tourist sence of today and it just depends on why you were here in the first place and where exactly you were.
You see, I was already 10 years on the road by 1958 and had made a few trips as merchant seaman by then, and was in a seagoing service.
