I feel the spirit of this thread crashing in flames at the childish behaviour of some posters here . . .

$35m identity crisis strikes Australia - World - NZ Herald News
    $35m identity crisis strikes Australia
    4:00AM Friday Aug 28, 2009
    By Kathy Marks
Australia's perennial quest for a national identity has taken on a new urgency, with the Government launching a $35.8 million quest for a revamped international image.

One thing is certain: no one wants a repetition of the disastrous tourism campaign of a few years ago which asked overseas visitors: "So where the bloody hell are you?"

The benchmark, as Australians grudgingly admit, is New Zealand's hugely successful "100 per cent Pure" campaign.

    ...
Immature eh! At least we do good slogans!

Geez, it is tough . . . we have KW and Ant in the lead . . . kind of like choosing between syphilis and penile gangrene . . .

But yes, the 100% Pure campaign is excellent, now if only Australia could be an insignificant, small and bloody cold cold country shaped like a /

(Am typing this at the office so Mrs Hat doesn't see this . . . she's lucky I'm considerate!)

Australia: Beautiful one day, perfect the next
So after all this the leading poll option's merely a rehash of an old slogan.

    I'd demand a re-count.

But I know Aussies can't count past five, so it's not worth it.
