    Korea--->LOS, shipping???

    Gonna be moving some stuff to Thai from Korea. Anyone know the cheapest way to get all my stuff over? I and the wife will have the standard two bags each, but I want to possibly ship a mtn bike, sterio equip, and two or three other boxes. Anyone know what that kind of stuff would run if brought on extra w/ Thai air? Container ship practical? If so then I'd ship my big screen tv as well.

    Cheers

    Contact one of the many Kor moving companies such as Han Jin, etc. Have them provide you with a quote for less than container load. They will probaly quote you a won price per kilo/sq meter.... could save money if you wrap yourself but have the moving company put it into a wooden crate. If your spouse is Thai and has a Thai passport showing that she has resided outside the country for more than 2 years, and if shipment is in her name, most of the stuff you ship should be customs free. Although there are limitations on electronic stuff. For a full 20 ft container sent from the states, I only had to pay 400 baht customs on 1 item.... get this, a mt bike that they said was not a personal item. go figure.... It really isn't a difficult issue to work and if the things you want to brink have personal value, sned them. It really is not that expensive and ask the moving company how you can save money if packing yourself....
