    Thai baccy

As a reformed ex-smoker I dare not try this stuff, lets just say I now have adequate quantities of this shit in the UK.

I bought it at a wholesalers for the sum of 6 baht a bag, retails in Thailand at 10 baht a pop.

Can anyone give me a translation off the bag? Purely for marketing purposes of course.

I was lead to believe its Nong Khai tobbaco, is it any good?

    Ya sen or 'medicine string/noodles'

Smoked it everyday for nigh on a year, while I was doing this..

After a while you start refusing bensons in favour of the stuff.

Of course a conniseur would probably favour this over the Nong Khai stuff

Couples up surprisingly well with a few shots of Ya Dong after eating a raw beef larb..

    Cue the footie chant..

Top: Ya Thip (something like magic/clairvoyance)
Second line: Tobacco from Baan Paeng (Baan Paeng is a district name)

In the star on the left it says "be careful of the fake one" or words to that effect, the box under that says Baan Paeng District again.

The box opposite on the right says Nakhon Panom province

The box under the phone number to the left gives registration number and then a number. The right box is illegible.

i have always rolled my own smokes, and this one (meow dum, see kiaow was the only shit i could get that was bearable in thailand
smoked the shit for four years, comes with a few papers, tho not gummed, and as thick as cardboard.
if you buy blades (papers) seperately, the only shit you can get in isaan is about twice as thick as the one you get with the meow dum.
i think the green one is supposed to be mentholated, but at least you can't taste the menthol, the red one tastes as shit as the stuff they sell with the pic of the manufacturer on the packet (you know, the one with the pic of the buffalo that produced it)

    yeah, got the same comments.
big turn-off for the girls tho: they think you cant afford to smoke the commercial stuff (was true in my case for a while- got over it by not rolling , but bumming "yaa-muan" instead when on the pull, and that seemed perfectly acceptable)

As I said in a gardening thread a while ago - soak a couple of packs in water - dilute it a bit and use it as a bug spray on your trees !

    Ya Sen....

I have seen leaves or even rolled up bits of soft bark used as papers for this shit, and I am not exaggerating.

It certainly isn't the smoothest of smokes.

I was an LM daeng man myself.

Now, however, I am one of these self righteous 'ex-smoker' people who complain about the smell and give a girly cough at the slightest hint of a bit off smoke. Or at leas that is what I am aiming at once I have finished throwing up tar and blood.

Fuck me I couldn't half do with a cig.

I have just opened a bag and tried to roll one purely for testing purposes of course and the papers don't have a licky bit (no glue) so the experiment was a disaster.

Off to Tesco in the morning for some Rizla papers.

^ You're just supposed to lick the end and hold it closed while you smoke it. Some kinda leaf.
