Could I get a decent job?

I was wondering if I could get a job and if it would be easy or not.
I am a C.N.C. Machinist in the U.S. I am currently a supervisor but I only supervise 2 people I have been in the trade for 17 years and have experience in just about all aspects of the Machining trade. I am 35 years old and still have a long ways to go until retirement. I have heard of the offshore oil drilling going on and I would think that they would reqire a person of my skills. I have no idea where to begin looking any help would be appreicated.
Also have a lot of computer skills building, upgrading, repairing, etc. but no on the job experience. Always an option.

BB, I don't think you have a big chance to come here and find a job - much better to apply with a farang company in farangland - think Chevron and others. That way you are kept as a foreign member and your salary will be quite different from what you can expect here with a local company!

I think that some thaivisa members are in the offshore oil biz. You might want to try asking there.

Oil rigs do not have machine shops on board... The adage is to measure with a micrometer, mark it in chalk and cut it with a blow torch...

I employ about 20 Thai CNC machinists running vertical spindle, centre Lathes, Wire Cut and EDM machines and they earn between 10 > 20 thousand baht x 28 days per month. And these blokes are good so you could rule that one out because of costs mate.

Foreign CNC programmer can be a job over here, i know a few. If they leave the productivity and efficiency and and and just collapse...

Most Thai technicians are afraid to take away metal as they were teached on how to do it with a single block of metal to be used for 150 students...

But the best way to enter such a job is to apply from abroad !

One way to find your boss could be posting for your availability in the different chamber of Commerce existing in Thailand...

    Good luck...

Not eaxctly so and from my experience Forry but he may be able to get a job working for a machine supplier selling, teaching and training local technicians.

Check with the Makino, Charlemille and other machining centre suppliers or the suppliers of cutters and carbide tips. I have a few mates who have made a fortune out here selling tooling in Asia.

Sell yourself as a consultant, not an operator, it works wonders.

Don't know what kind of job you looking for, but on the beach at night in Pattaya you should be able to score a pretty good blow job, lots of 'chicks with dicks' hang out there from what I read, but under no circumstances go to a room with them.
See you got the '69' on your nic, they might be into some of that too.
