You wonder what goes throught their minds

My wife started a new job this morning, now she has known for a couple of days that she secured the job so had some time to prepare. I took over the duties getting the kids ready for school, so she didn't have that to think about.

Start time at new job is 10 am.

Gets up at 5.30 to iron the girls school uniforms. ( I told her to do them yesterday)

Farts around till 7.00 am at which time the girls are sent off to school.

    Has a nap 7 to 8.45 am

Has a shower till 9.am and then gets dressed to get on the MC and get her fvcking hair done.

After I explain that it takes 20 mins to drive to where she works and she doesn't have time to get her hair done.

She starts belly aching that she needs new shoes.

Christ sake women, you knew yesterday that you needed new shoes, why didn't you buy them then?

Eventually after trying on several outfits, ready at 9.40 just in time to make it to first day on the Job, but with no hairdo and no new shoes.

left to her own devices she probably would have made it to her new job at about 12.

I spend more time waiting for my missus than actually doing stuff.

Thanks, DB. I'm getting a bit confused. Why does she have to get on her motorcycle? Where is she going before she does her hair?

A couple of hours "late" by Thai time is probably acceptable, more so if everyone can see you were obviously having a hair do and buying shoes.

I have to tell my missus to go and buy some new clothes and it takes her 10 minutes to get ready generally.

Not that she is a slob and has no style she just seems to get things done with a minimum of fuss and she hates fanfare.

    I am lucky!

Mine takes a little longer than 10 minutes to get ready but we are seldom late. If we are golfing she is ready at least an hour before "wheels Up"

Alright, alright. When I was likely her age, it took me an hour just to put my war paint on. Now it takes me an hour just to get mobile.

i realized long ago that to get a woman to an appointment on time, you have to lie about when she has to be there.
ie if you are invited to dinner at 8pm, just tell her you need to be there at 7

i once reset all the clocks in the house, plus her wristwatch an hour fast, and that worked only for one early morning appointment.
when we got home she switched on the tv and it took her a while to figure out why her soapie was an hour late!

I think most Thais would forgive someone arriving for work 2 hours late on their first day as long as the new employee took along a couple of plastic bags full of weeds and mud for everyone to share for lunch...

Hey PP don't complain, put it down to cultural differences, if you'd married a falang Shelia would it not be you who was doing all the work then going to work??
Going to the hairdressers for a wash and dry for anything more than a shopping trip has always made me shake my head in amazement with the Thai women I have known.
The nap between 7 -8.45 is a classic - must do that!!

No KC, complain, Not me. I just wonder what goes on in their little heads, like first day at work you would want to impress by being on time so then you would organise everything to enable that.
Just the way I would approach it that all.
