Does she look like she fits a racial atereotype?
A westy or westie is someone from the western suburbs of Sydney . . . it's the lower income area and most of the people are . . . white Australians.
Sydney is divided into six main aeas:
Eastern Suburbs - old money and nice beaches like Bondi, Coogee, Nielsen Bay. Population mixed with old Aussie, Jews, Kiwis.
Northern Suburbs - Newer money on the North Shore and the surfing fraternity on the northern beaches. Some older suburbs inland, mainly Aussies and South Africans in places like St. Ives
Inner West - the trendy area, close to the city, also some areas of high crime
West - a big mix of people, the most affordable area of Sydney as it reaches up to 40kms from the city . . . lots of land, the urban sprawl
South-West - Many new Australians, especially Middle Eastern population as well as Koreans, Vietnamese etc . . .
South - Pretty much still Skippy country, excellent beaches like Cronulla . . . The Sutherland Shire is a comfortable middle-class area.

Yes PH, new money for sure. They now call the suburbs of Chatswood and Artarmon, Chatswoo and Artarwong.
Ah, the tmies they are a'changing . . . Johnny. I've met two Chinese Aussies here recently, one from Hornsby the other Artarmon.
At least the Chinese migrants don't cause trouble and do mix with the general population.
Ah, speaking of the OP - our 'bogun' friend has no admitted that nothing she said was true. . . she made it all up for a laugh.
Yep, you're right about that. They are great people I reckon. The saddest thing to see is the still racist attitudes of some people towards asians in this country. However, that is gradually changing with integration and the Chinese generally themselves do a lot to change those attitudes by their behaviour.Originally Posted by panama hat
As for the 'bogun', anyone who believes anything that is said by anyone at Kings Cross in the early hours has to be as dopey as her.
