Among those civilisations that were left off the list that retain historical prophecy regarding this date: Sumarians, Egyptians, and Vedic cultures. There are a number of similarities concerning events. Perhaps not the end, but the start.

I've just checked the calender in my Microsoft Outlook Email account, and it goes past Dec 21, 2012.

What more proof do you need?
