BKK Airport is Suwarnabhumi, it inherited the airport code when it opened.

Don Muang is Don Muang airport, DMK I think, it handles no international flights.

There is only one terminal at Bangkok Airport.

Your are correct with the code. There still are some special charters that still land at DMK but I doubt many TDer's would qualify.

When I get my booking confirmation it shows me the duration, aircraft type and what meals will be served.

What airlines are you flying on?

Maybe they will use DMK if the reds close Sawanapum.

One other thing, if there's any empty first class seats - is there anyway I can get a free upgrade?

I have never in my 34.9 years flown anything other than cattle class - if I lament this fact to the check in woman or flight attendant is there any chance they will take mercy on me and put me somewhere nice?

What if I tell them I am a TV presenter or ask, "Don't you know who I am??!!" or would it be better just to be really pleasant, enquiring and charming - and who should I target?

On the odd occasion if the flight is overbooked. The Airline will normally look at the frequent flyer members in cattle class. The ones with the most miles will normally get the bump.

I am not a frequent flyer of any airline and I have no frequent flyer points, only sincere eyes and charming way with words.
