    The Rainy season

Will it come early this year?
Have noticed it has started to rain most days recently.
What is it like where you are in Thailand and what are your thoughts?

Its been threatening in Pattaya today and also threatened all day yesterday but didn't happen apart from a few spits.

Maprachan Lake has not really shown any rise in levels since the rainy season started and that could be a worry for the future.

Yea, for sure a little early as it has had a few pretty good rains and often enough I don't have to water the flowers.

Raining hard and heavy here in Korat once every couple of day at the moment. But when its not raining its ridiculously hot. Any time past 8am is scorchio and hard to do anything without breaking into a outrageous sweat, so the rains a welcome break, but you can't do anything in that either, so its just shite. Roll on December, perfect temperature here.

Very heavy rain and winds over in Nonthaburi today. Out on the main road several home owners are probably regretting the decision to erect large bill boards above their homes for the rental fees. Driving home we saw several of these blown down onto the homes below. One house was pretty well wrecked along with the owners car which was parked in the drive. Hope the accumulated rental fees cover the cost of a new home

^ Yeh, you don't wanna be standing or driving anywhere near those bill boards on a stormy day, not exactly constructed with safety in mind.

A while ago a young girl was killed when an board advertising Orange mobile fell over and killed her, the usual outcry and Politicians promising we will get them all safety inspected.
I doubt whether anything happened at all following that now forgotten incident.
    Sad ain't it?

Anyway first rainstorm of this year in Udon last night, pissed down for a solid 6 hrs or so, the lawn is transformed over night.

I couldn't go to Bangkok today because my missus was scared we were going to be flooded out and to be honest I got a little worried as the small river running through our property rose by a good metre in about an hour.

Bucketed down here for about 2 hours and probably the most eerie and noisiest electrical storm I have ever experienced since I have been in Thailand. Had my kids and the dogs ducking for cover.

It must have pissed down last night, the wind blew the lid of my empty rubbish bin and it has about 300 mm of water in it.

Don't mind the rain so much (huge electrical storm and downpour here a few hours ago), it's the swarms of flying insects that come in the evening after heavy rain that I hate. Dunno how the buggers get through my screens, but a few always do...
