    Show us your armpits

Hi everyone, I have a problem that comes and goes and has come and gone over the years. I have two armpits, and sometimes - like now, after I shower and towel dry myself I apply the British Dispensary's wonderful Prickly Heat powder, or the second best option which is Protex Cooling (any flavour) - and I don't leave home without a mini one of either.

Anyway, once a year I shave my armpits because David Beckham does it so it's good enough for me, and last time I did it I got a rash, and when I applied said cooling powder, fuck me did it burn! ...And still an hour later!!!

I have not shaved my armpits yet this year, and at the moment I could not anyway because I am suffering the same intense burning sensation, over an hour after taking a shower. Photo below taken just moments ago just for TeakDoor, you can't really see much because of the hair but there is a moist patch on the powder residue.

So come on, what gives? ...Sensible answers only please.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

    Really?

So if I shave them and walk around in a vest or sleeveless T-Shirt will that help?

After I shower there is a 3 stage process of drying which focuses on my armpits, genitalia and arsehole, they are:

    A: Towel rub/dab.

    B: Expose to electric fan.

    C: Powder application.

So they are usually dried properly, maybe I'm just not showering enough?

He must believe he has a monopoly on the word, it wore thin late in 2007 and picked up a small following of equally unimaginative bandwagon forum sheep. In real life he has a bit more style, I doubt he gets armpit rash either as he is Australian and probably showers three times a day or something silly.

Seriously, that's the problem - the powder?

But how come it only happens a few times a year and never happens on the other regions where I apply the powder?

Used powders before and occasionally had same symptoms. May not be the case for you but try not using and see if things improve. Worked for me.

    Oh, FFS!!!

When you shave an area like the armpits, Scampy, you scrape off skin and may nick yourself. So, applying products afterwards may hurt. Jeeze, we go through this every day - and you start a thread because it happens to you once a year???

Try buying an anti-perspirant or deodorant labelled 'non-sting' (try the girly aisles in the chemists) and use that until shaving rash is no longer a problem.

I haven't shaved them yet, I'm thinking maybe i'll wait until the rash has gone then do it and only dry with fan and towel, do you all think that's the best idea?

Grand idea. Carry on and let us know the outcome as fast as possible. The suspense is killing me.

Hmm, so you have a stinging rash without having shaved and you're wondering whether you should wait until it's gone before shaving? You're always good entertainment, Scampy.

Scamp, you have a potentially serious, but not life threatening, fungal infection

get help soon otherwise your armpits may be permanently scarred

also the sooner you start on antifungals, the sooner you can shave

right , here's my 2 satang's worth. stop shaving, period. buy a hair trimmer and use it on the low cut, just leave a small amount of hair, not queer are u, lol. throw away all the toiletries u have . go to the local market, u are in los i take it, buy some very large lumps of household soda, cost small bt. dont dry underarm. smooth the large lump of soda so smooth. rub into/onto/under arm. kills all bacteria that likes said environment. be patient all will be fine. this is good for 8hrs of no bo, can reshower and good for another 8hrs. if i'm not working, perspiring, 12hrs has been achieved. you can carry a lump with u and apply during the day. this is also good for people that have bad bo, but it takes a while to get the better of a bad bo. sooooo easy.
