Well done Phuketbound, you hit the nail on the head in the op. Your are correct, the only reason that there are more Brits than Yanks and Canadians is because our country is closer. Theres only one other place on this earth that the Poms inhabit more than Thailand and thats good old Australia.

Back in the sixties the government sponsored them to come here and the lucky Pommy bastards paid only 10 pound for the fare.

The throttlers been coming ever since but now the buggers have to pay full fare, I don't mind them as some of them are real funny fokers but I wish they'd drop the socks and sandles gig.

Having a shower wouldn't be a bad idea either.

That's soo true. They smell, more like rank of alcohol. I don't understand why there are so many Brits in Thailand, but you are making me understand.

What the worst part is when I'm on the beach in Phuket, and you get all these Europeans who still think they are back home, and they sunbathe naked, and parade around in little speedos. There should be a law. Well there is a law, but it isn't followed.

PB - Stop worrying about what others are up to and just worry about yourself for starters. Actually you'd fit in quite well with those you are describing - constant whinging.

Yep, Jettie. And Germans and some Scands and French. The Brits certainly aren't winning the 'let's show our pasty arses and jiggly bits to the world' awards. A lot of countries are in front of us.

Paki assumed a pejorative meaning simply through usage by those who expressed prejudiced views about the nationality specifically and Asian immigrants in general i.e them Paki bastards all stink and there are too many of them etc etc and the term rapidly became synonymous with the almost inevitable abuse that it usually accompanied.

In itself the use of Paki as a diminution could have been acceptable in much the same way that Afghani and Hindu are universally recognised as appropriate abbreviations for folk from Afghanistan and Hindustan.

I believe describing British Pakis as Reggies is acceptable by most in polite circles.

I actually get along very well with the Brits, and have had some of the best times in Thailand with Brits who always seem to make me laugh, and vice versa.
