Should reputation comments be private?

Should reputation comments be kept private as per private messages or should we be allowed to show them to people?

If they are private and people send abusive reputation points should they be reported and be jailed for a period of time, 1 week per abusive comment

Should they be abolished all together since as friscofrankie put it "they are just a way for the old boys network to slap each others backs"

which Ihave to agree on.

I think it's time to dump them. People aren't going to leave the forum over the loss of them and if they do then I can't see someone like thatbeing missed.

Personally if I could find a way of breaking the repo machine thingy and get away with it I would, but I imagine the outcome of that would create a thread as long as the repo thread.

It does seem to be loved by all. Green and red dots are not the problem. Maybe you should consider eliminating the comment field.

The green & red dots are fine. Just leave the comments private like the PM. Nasty one send to DD to sort out. Not that he will do anything about it mind.

Have never been a fan of the system and have not handed out any greens and or reds.
Same goes for post count. Why the need to wear a high number as some badge of honour?

There again I have never used an avatar either so perhaps I am not the best example to use as to what should or shouldn't be available for use.

The fact that all three have been there since the early days or inception of the forum has not had a negative effect on my use of the forum.

No. I voted "no." I like it when people post repo comments, and that's a difference from the other channel.

Solution: don't check your repo points. I go week without checking mine, but do son occasion out of curiosity.

Then I get my knickers in a twist and go psycho on the board.
