I would say that some males in thisn expat community hold emotional baggage with white women and they haven't checked it in yet. They bring this baggage to Thailand with them and for most of them this will follow wherever they go.

You cant escape from your past no matter how quick you run it will always follow. I really feel for these types of men, I truly do. Some guys come here purely because their way of treating women was not accepted by women of their own race so they come to LoS and treat other women how they wish.

Then you get another class of men that have a prefrence for Asian women and I am fine with that, I really am! But what I am not fine with is the fact they continue to share a few "fat ugly white women" comments here and there! If you haven't anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.

Many of these men have had terrible pasts and I am sorry about that but there really is no need to generalise.

At the end of the day I will happily socialise with all male expats even though some of them are far beyond attractive but I wont decide in my mind that all male expats are the same fat, ugly, bald and disrespectful towards women.

yes IM you summarized the situation pretty nicely. Personally I think both sides are guilty. Western women (aka the "American woman") have had "unrealistic" expectations in the last few decades. They have been throwing shit on little pretense. That said, they were justified on many occasions. Basically western men have given up on their Western women because of their high financial and emotional maintenance. The "entitlement" of those women is so strong that men have left in disgust. As the saying goes "Western women are great for sport fucking but make terrible wives"

I love western women as much as I like Thai women. Thai women are more "feminine" than western women and physically more attractive. But I like western women better for socializing. Some men only see women as pussy on life support so this could explain their aggressivity when those dare to speak their mind.

I've nothing against western women, although I agree with IM that a lot of expats here have "Issues" from previous relationships.
I'm not sure that overall I think thai women are more atractive especially if you compare age for age. Thai women are generaly a bit to thin and timid for my tastes, generaly when socalising I do prefer the company of men.

I have noticed that many expats are very wary of socalising with Thai males......mabye that would make a good topic
