    New Kitchen

The girlfriend and I are considering the purchase of a new kitchen, and i was quite surprised to find units with granite work surfaces to be considerably cheaper than those with wood tops. I'm not talking about real wood either, just 40mm work tops that are either MDF or similar and simply veneered.

I checked three stores and all granite units were cheaper. Am i missing something or is granite/marble cheap over here?

I'm not looking to go mad on a kitchen price wise but any retailer recommendations would be useful.

    Thanks

My experience is that granite is very cheep here. Especially cheep if you get it directly from where it is quarried (Terng area-Near ChaingKham)

Local granite can be very cheap. Tile is a consideration also. If you are looking to have wood cabinets suggest you check out Kitchco.
