Thread: Art - do you like it?

A few years back my oldman bought a painting for me at an auction. Some local cheap one.

He decided to reframe the painting. Behind it he found a John )clinton maybe) sketch of a dog (do you know the artist who was famous for sketching hroses etc from UK)

He didn't know if it was real or not. He suspected it was a copy but why was it behind the painting/

When I left I gave it back to him and he has never had anyvody look at it.

Odd thing to do but the old man says that he doesn't care the story is good enough.

i got a friend he has 5 or 6 sketches from Picasso, forgot how he got hand on it, family related story if i remember, it is just pencil made sketches, he should i think take that out of the drawer and see if it is worth few bahts...

i'll ask him if he scan it over...

what abt some this modern art shite - bloke got 10's of thousands $ to fund an exhibition which was a light turnign on and off!

I went ot a modern art exibition once, spent ages looking at a red fire extinguisher. Felt a bit foolish when I relised that it was'nt part of the exibition.

Well, I spent ages looking at a 'pissoir' which was openly mounted in an unlikely place without drainage.

I truly love the paintings by Norman Rockwell. Only wish that i had an original.

By the way the kids have finished 7 copies now, and I have a few bites from people who think they are authentic.

George Stubbs is perhaps the painter of 'horses' whom you are thinking of.

Or you might be thinking of Higgins the 'House' painter.

Or possibly even the white knights in Through the Looking Glass who painted the 'roses' red.

Yup somewhere in my house I have a second floor Patpong special.

I like art, and have done some digital art myself.

Here are a few.

I took this picture of a girl in harajuku and layered it over a landscape scene I made in Bryce graphic software..


The blur in this pic is natural (from the camera) ...but I used a couple of special effects to make it look nice..


This picture I drew by hand, and then scanned it and put it through some photoshop filters..

Damn my friend is an artist!! And I do mean that. Way to go Wally, and now you have an exhibition. You gotta love the net!!

This is my dear friend Billy taking a pee in my loo. He was the bass player in a band called Guitar Wolf. Sadly, he passed away last year.
