    Urgent Help

I've lost my mobile phone tonight, possibly in a friend's car but the landlines at my apartment aren't working and the receptionist doesn't have a mobile

Can someone dial my number 087 0710270 and find out who has my phone (if anyone).

Post on here please if you do this..

    Thanks.

There's a fair chance I dropped it in a friend's car last night but I can't call him until later as the landlines here aren't working.

As long as it's ringing and before they toss the SIM, try texting and offer xxxx baht no questions asked for the SIM or phone+SIM.

    How do you know that?

In fact if it is still ringing then that suggests that the SIM is still inside the phone, and therefore not stolen.

The phone being on means that the person who has found it has probably been calling all his friends overseas. And letting all his mates use it too.

Once you cancel the line in a weeks time (after he has racked up a $5000 phone bill) he will then take out the SIM and sell the phone.

    Have a nice day.

No chance of that. It is a pay as you go phone with about ThB 500 credit left. I was at Shrewsbury school's Proms concert last night and I know it was in my top jacket pocket when I left the concert hall. I took the jacket off in my friend's car so I think that is where it may well be. Trouble is that I think it will still be on silent mode but the vibrate option makes quite a buzz... oh and the only place I have his number is in my phone.

If it has been stolen then I hope they are using it so I can have them traced. It is ThB 36,000 worth of phone with all my contact details and diary info in it so it is worth real money to me.

i called the number, no answer, then a thai called back, didn't get much further.

if your SIM is important and turns out to be stolen rather than left in a friendly car, try the sms ploy, sometimes it works.

Might have to change the number if you do get it back. Revealing it to all and sundry on t'internet can have its consequences.

^ Actually, I lost my phone a few times. Called the number from my land line and either found it in my car or at a friend's place. Still hope.

A thai calling back is good news, might mean someone has it and is trying to find the owner (not all thai's are dishonest)

A member might be able to sms in thai and tell him to leave it somewhere nearby THormy.... reception of a nearby hotel?

Similar happened to me a few years ago. Taxi guy came back well out of his way to return the phone. It took all my persuasion for him to accept a few hundred baht as thank you.

Not simply not being a kunt but being a really good guy going out of his way to return the property and for nothing in return
