^ Personally I much prefer people who openly display their feelings than those who bottle them up only to explode at some future time.
There are many things about Thai behaviour that my time here has yet to make fully clear:
- Why do the boyfriends of secretaries in my office call their girlfriend non-stop for 30 minutes when the phone isn't answered because she has left it on the desk to go to a meeting? What kind of mental behaviour is that?
- Why do taxi drivers sound their horn at farangs? It's my guess that they see a white $ sign walking along and see an opportunity via a naive person with lots of money. They don't have the intelligence to realise that the farang can almost certainly recognise the bright red light in the windscreen and read the big English language TAXI sign on the roof. To them, if the farang hears the horn and uses their taxi, all is well, and if the farang doesn't use it, well it's only some random foreigner that the noise pollution has been inflicted on, so who gives a shit. Correct?
