Thread: WTF ! Is Big Brother On My Tail ?

OK this just happened to me today and is freaking me out. I will share this with you chaps to see if anybody has had a similar experience, or some possible explanations of the situation.


I recently put a new sim card in my PAYG mobile as I have moved city and could do without some people contacting me (female fans ).

Today I get a phone call from the collections dept of my bank telling me I am a few pounds overdrawn and must pay it back etc etc. We are only talking #20 pounds here so it is not serious. I tell them piss off and hang up, as you do.

HOWEVER, just after this call I realized that I have just changed my sim card and almost nobody knows it, let alone my bank ?!?!

The only official bodies I gave my new mobile number to were my local doctor, a hospital, and a couple of jobs that I had applied for.

What the hell is going on ? how did they get that number ?

Conspiracy theories are not normally my thing but this has got me thinking

didn't apply for a job with your bank did you?

did any family member pass on the number? Ie bank rang home, got given new number?

call forwarding from old number?

What did you do with the old SIM Card?

If you gave it to someone else to use they could possibly have given the Bank your new number when the Bank called them.
