So he paid for the cinema and the first round in Nana a place he was obviously dragged because someone else wanted to go whoring.

Was even turned down for another round in a bar he felt more comfortable in because the women are ugly (it was Nana area, that's a given!!)

Sounds like he is entitled to feel agrieved and perfectly entitled to by himself a book on the way there.

Question about the meal in Irish Pub.

    Who offered to pay?

    Who refused to pay?

I bought a water filtration system for the house.
Cost 5k, I've had more than 10k litres-3 years use, ie less than 0.5baht per litre.
    That is value to me.

At what point did he say he couldn't afford to continue, and why on earth did you not leave him at that point?

none at all of one pays their share. however if one refuses to pay their share but spends something on themself then I would question it.

^Christ, if you have friends that force you to go places against your will then they probably aren't very good friends.

They were right. Must easier to sponge off people if they don't know you have a huge wedge of cash in the bank.

Scamp, for years I have read about you and your spending habits on forums from a selection of people that have met you. Your worse habit seeming to be your ability to spend other people's money rather than your own.

Perhaps he provides entertainment that justifies the expenditure.

Blakes7 must think so, after all Scampy refused (so it is said) to pay his way and yet he stayed out with him for the evening.

    Talk about Billy No Mates.

Scampy, next time actually charge him for your company.

I would like to add another example, but that would tarnish Scampy reputation for ever

Remember this thread isn't just about Scampy, it was a hypothetical question, how do you go for a beer if you have no money left or don't want to spend any more money?

As, I've already said, I've got no problem with tightness, but if you're tight you have to give up some of life's luxuries.

Fair comment, but I didn't read that he'd blown all his money on a book and was going for a beer on the back of a mate. I understood he had some cash but not enough for the places his mate went too. OK, he should (maybe did) have explained his situation and if the mate still insisted that's the mates problem. As long as all parties concerned know the score there's no room for recrimination.

but if said people are soft enough to allow it to happen and not say anything to his face and then come on a forum and tell the world what a [at][at][at][at] he is must be a right bellend

The confusing thing is that both parties seem to know exactly what to expect - firstly that Scampy won't pay his way and secondly that Blake7 will broadcast the fact to TD - but they still seem to carry on.

Agree. Seems a pretty low act to broadcast such a thing on an internet forum where the guy is a member. I could understand it if the guy is a serial bludger, but this whole thing seems a bit over the top.

How much does one beer cost now anyway?

    AND

Why if he knows that they are going somewhere he can't afford did he not say something. He is after all a grown man.

Scamp from your OP I wouldn't say you knew so much about the average Thai person. I have to disagree with most of the points you make here.

I haven't found Thais to only spend money on something they really need. Quite the opposite in most cases in fact.

I haven't found the Thais to be particularly greedy either (something you often comment on), certainly no different from any other people in the world.
