I have sand in my camera

I have tried Googling Samsung repair centre service Bangkok and variations on it. Top of the list is a Nation article that mentions that
Samsung spent Bt40 million on improvements to its customer service operations in Bangkok on Silom Road in October last year by renovating the building and adding more technology for better service.
but there's no address per se.

    Here is my camera.

    And here is some sand.

Isn't there a photo of your friend on your phone? Or was I so wrecked I mistook a camera for a phone?

BTW, she certainly does look bloody good for her age.

I had sand under my foreskin on more than one occasion and it worked perfectly well after it was rinsed off and has worked for years since, so why not just clean the camera.?

Put the vacuum cleaner on reverse blow so it blows out the sand as opposed to sucking it out should do the trick.Don't wipe the camera as this will scratch vital components.

If this fails take it to the Samsung people.

I took it to the Samsung people in Silom and I got a call today from the thick-as-shit customer service Thai girl saying - in English so broken it needs a fucking overhaul - that to fix my camera would cost 1,900 baht.

'Hmm, at that price I would hope to have it ready before I go to Laos at the weekend.'

"Misderr wiw take abau sewen day"

'Well, for 2,000 baht do you think it would be possible for me to have it ready in five days as I would rather like to take my camera with me on holiday.'

This took three attempts to explain and she got confused and said she would call me back. I could almost hear the cogs and mechanics in her little brain try and compute something that had not been in the staff handbook.

So, I am half expecting a call back. I could go there in person and say the same thing and she would give an inane, nervous little laugh - look over her shoulder and say "Jus one minute please" and go and get somebody else to deal with the situation.

IF I explained the whole thing to her in Thai - which, what with her being a customer service representative and everything, no customer should have to do - but let's say I did, I estimate from her level of dimness that it would confuse her that her own language was passing farang lips - this has happened to me many times from many Thai's of similar dimness - which are plentiful, they are all over the place in uniforms and silly hats and rehearsed smiles.

All you members who bash moaners like me in defence of Thai's in a gluttenous self blowjob of chivalry - I think you just have an equal bee in your bonnet about you not being the only farangs here.

Sometimes us farangs just get fustrated that we are in a country that wants to have it's cake and eat it - it's that simple.

Credit where it's due, Thai's are generally friendly enough and there are some wonderful individuals here, in six and a half years I have had the pleasure to know some very sharp and intelligent Thai's - but shite where it's due also, yeah I am generalizing and I have the right to generalize as we all do and I would do it wherever I lived.

How many Asian's here do you know who like Thais?

Ask a Filipino or a Chinese person (who isn't filthy rich) what they think of Thai's and you will get the same reluctant answer. They don't like them, and in the case of the former - Thai's treat them like shit and Filipino's and Burmese do not generally get smiled at and are considered lower class citizens.

Yes I'm Thai bashing and yes I'm in a bad mood... There's too much stupidity in the word, it's more fucking ubiqitious than hydrogen and there's to much here - it need to be dispersed or shaken out of them.

I guess Koeans must be greedy assholes too, lets bash them while we're at it.

just to wind you up more. in Thai terms I would take that seven days you got quoted and multiply it by a factor of at least 2. Therefore if they actually succeed in fixing the camera. should have it back in around no less than 2 weeks. As they will need seven (7) days to ship the parts via sea.....

Have you ever heard yourself speak Thai? I'd be surprised if anyone could work out what you were trying to say.

I take it you know you can just take the memory card out of your camera and get the photos

and as was pointed out earlier - forget the 7 days

are you going to get a better camera case ? or a new camera ?

Don't all the customer service people in Germany speak English? The ones in Korea don't. Must be something Samsung needs to rectify immediately.
