Whats the score with the other forums??

just wondering, as a bit of a newbie but have been watching the forum for a while the obsession with hating other thai based forums??

why do people diss the ajarn, or thaivisa malarky?

they might be run by cnuts but should the idea behind a forum be to provide info fot the public in general, and especially those that actively take part?

i find that notion sadly lacking here at TD. Just wonderin why.

Actually, as if scripted, someone asks a very relevent queston as to the relationships with ajarn and Thaivisa.

Well the current membership can be divided into two groups; one with an ajarn history and the otter with TV experience.

In short, the managements of these two boards don't encourage freedom of expression and actively harrass anyone who has a sense of humour or vaguely disagrees with them.
Many posters have had their posting rights denied at TV.
At ajarn it's more of a constant battle with the admin and mods besides it's dead boring (unless Harry's there!)

I expect some of the ex-TVers to get you up to speed on that corrupt forum. Needless to say, the ill feeling is borne out of their treatment of people who like a bit of fun.



TeakDoor is an actively open and anarchistic forum where any point of view is tolerated (by me at least)

The only thing I don't approve of is fat white women....


As for providing info for the members who take part......

im still wondering why its necessary for constanbt referrals to those forums though. isnt it a bit like trumpeting, 'we are better than those guys?'

ive spent a pleasurable hour today reading the CS life story over on the Famous Threads branch, and it was very enjoyable and informative.

seems contrary to much of the rest of the stuff posted here though.

maybe im just needing some more time to 'acclimatise' but its my observations right now.

you base this assumption on about 15 threads out of a few thousand? there are several threads on ladymen aswell, but it doesn't mean we all want to be ladymen......

I joined ThaiVisa yesterday for the Thai Language forum. Not sure I'll be bothered to check out the plethora of other forums there mind - It's like a shopping mall full of lovely hat shops - so many places so little time.....

I still pop in and read on Ajarn - I think LDMA's done a good job there.

As people become more at home here they forget about the otter two places and start posting some serious drivel.
It's really only dirtydog who goes on about ajarn these days, no-one else can be bothered.
As for Thaivisa, well, maybe there are more recent converts, who are still put out by being human and still losing their posting rights. It might take a little longer.

well, i kinda get you there. the mods are clowns on the TV site, and when the missus signed up to ask a question or two she managed to get zero straight answers before the fookwits hijacked her threads giving irrelevant advice.

Dr. Patpong on the other hand hgas become a legend in his own time. Who else do you know who has become so infamous and obviously disliked by giving usually no more than 4 word posts. Its genius if u ask me.
