^Honestly, you don't need to search. Just meet almost any Russian woman and they are that way. It's really extraordinary. I've never encountered that to such a degree anywhere else in the world. I've always wondered why too.

Russian Billionaire to set up magazine for snobs

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's super-rich love to flaunt their wealth. Soon they will have a magazine called Snob to help them.

Mikhail Prokhorov -- whose wealth is estimated at around $22 billion -- plans to spend $150 million setting up a magazine, website and television station called Snob, the general director of the new venture told Reuters on Wednesday.

Russia has become rich over the last few years due to a boom in commodity and energy prices. No extravagance is too much in Moscow where the super-rich hold wild caviar and champagne parties in exclusive nightclubs behind fur-lined curtains.

Their chauffeurs loiter on street corners smoking cigarettes and polishing European and American luxury cars at the same time that about 20 percent of Russia's population live below the poverty line and many grumble about the growing divide.
"It's not pleasant to boast about your wealth when you have inherited it but when you have made it yourself, well it is still not very nice, but it is justified," Shmarov said.

"Snob to us means a person who is a 'self-made man', a person who has gained a right to snobbishness," he said emphasizing the main difference with the British meaning which he said referred to inherited wealth.

I really agree with this guy. Self made people deserve to be snobs.

I made the choice to create a lot of jobs for people where there was none before. many families prospered because of my choices. What else would you like to add?

I did not criticize your life choices as I know next to nothing about them. I only made an observation that you like his reasoning because it affirms to you that you have made the right choices in life.

Russians I have worked for in Pattaya have seem alright to me, the last group even flew in an American translator for themselves, they always paid me cash in 100 dollar bills, damn nice chaps

Awful table manners, made me feel ill when i sat near a couple and saw the way they shovelled food into their mouths spoke with full gobs with bits falling out and flying over the table.
I'm sure not all are like it but until i see otherwise i'll think they're all the same!

me and a group of friends were having a bit of a party in quiet bar on koh chang once, nice evening then some ruskies arrived with family and kids, they demanded to play pool, actually taking someones cue away while they were chalking up, and started to help themselves to the vodka we had on ice! when the owner of the bar (thai, but well versed in farang bad manners) told them to behave or leave they started to shout 'mafia!' well we couldnt believe it! so fcuk the russians, worst people ive ever met!

Ok, I will.

My girlfriend used to compose poetry then read it over the phone to her girlfriend. At some point it would become unbearable, and they had to be together physically.

You may wonder how I know this? I had my apartment phone bugged and a tape recorder on 24/7. I wasn't doing it to catch her, but for other reasons.

She admitted everything and introduced me to her lover.....

Was eating soi food in Jomtien a few years back and this Russian tourist was sittting next to us. He had obviously just gotten off the plane. He spoke no English, and was attempting to eat his noodle soup with chopsticks....using both hands. Made me smile, but I felt sorry for the guy.
I'd see Russian hookers walking around South Pattaya all the time...wearing next to nothing. Nice to look at; they added some flavor to the already polluted scene.

A group of Russian tourists subjected the staff of a resteurant in Kata - Phuket to abuse and arrogance,if this indicative of their manners in general,bring back the iron curtain.There was nothing wrong with thr service they recieved.
