    Can you do this?

It's generally accepted is it not, that "You can take a Girl out of a Bar, but you can't take The Bar out of The Girl!".

Well, how true is this then?

"You can take a Girl out of The Village, but you can't take The Village out of the Girl!".

I have never been able to.......but maybe you know different?

My OP was not intended to be overly critical Girls!

It's just that they are like fish out of water when they move to the towns as a rule....Ooooops! did I generalise?

I bought 1 of those air cooler thingies, you know the one where you throw water and ice into it and it blows cold air. Anyway i have ac in the main rooms but in the office it gets a bit hot, so thats why i bought it. To cut a long story short, with 2 kids in the house and 1 new born (2 weeks) i thought it would be be better to throw a cap full of Detol into it. not only clean but smells good too. The wife comes to see me about half an hour later and says, "how much did you put in the air cooler?" I say "not much about half a cap full" she says to me "can you turn it off, it's giving my mum a head acche and it stinks" (in thai) so not being one to argue i say ok and can you turn the A.C up so it comes into the office. she agrees all is good for about 10 minutes. I smell, what can only be discribed as the smell of 10 bus station toilets mixed with the smell of 100 olympic runners socks after a 15 mile marathon. half gagging i come into the kitchen to see my wife and her mom cooking to which i'm met with a "hom bor? gin khao bor?". so how does the smell o detol and the smell of fermented fish and sundried fish compair or you? Different strokes for different foks i quess. the cooler went straight back on and i am now enjoying the hospital like aroma of cleanliness.

Reminds me that I can be glad not having to cope with that awful stuff anymore.

I have found that Village Girls working here in Pattaya, are usually quite desperate to make enough money to build a house in their Village, and go back to live in close proximity to the Family.

Every one I have ever known, and I have known quite a few, has wanted to do that.

Personally, I hate those bluddy primitive Villages......I would be the 'Fish out of Water' if I went to stay in one!

Lived all over Thailand and think a Thai village is the best place I have lived yet. No blood coppers for a start and can pretty well do anything I want any time I want.
