Thread: Nigerian Tries To Scam Thai Lady

A young thai girl came to my wife today wanting to get advice. She met a handsome farang online and he is coming to Thailand in a few weeks. He seems perfect - rich, handsome and has expensive taste. He had her find him a lovely apartment for $100,000 a month and a car and river for the same price. He was going to stay long time and was bring in a one carat diamond ring to giver her for an engagement present.

He was not exactly sure when he was coming and wanted to transfer some money to her to reserve the apartment and car and he also wanted to set up a huge company here.

He is presently working on may projects in Nigeria. * first clue

In addition to the 200,000 baht, he wants to send $100,000 US dollars to get his business here started.

Although they have never met and only emailed and talked on the phone for a few weeks, he is going to send all that to her in a bank transfer. * clue number 2

well, if he really send it all, where is the scam?

Though as you I expect that he will ask her for some handling fee.

This Thai girl had begged and borrowed the money and wanted my missus to take her to Western Union so she could send it.

This raised a flag in my wife's mind and she told me of the scam.

The pic that he sent is a white guy business man type - no one one on the sight matches that.
