    Any plans for Songkhran?

It actually isn't too bad around here for Songkhran- we're far enough from Pattaya to avoid the total lunacy, and the traffic. Most of the locals just stay out of town for the duration.

But this year, I'm heading up to Roi Et with a couple of friends from Bangkok who have a house there, and doing it Isaan style. Quite looking forward to it actually.

What are your plans for Songkhran?

well here in our village in central Thailand, they are just as much idiots as they are in downtown CM, so we just stay in the yard and mostly in the house and lay low for a week.

Wife will not take her car out of the driveway as she hates the small dings from the ice chunks hitting it.

^ Watch out for those Stingrays Terence.

8th songkran now, and what I've learned is you either let loose for a couple of days and enjoy the fun or you sit at home miserable wishing you still had it in you.

Personally I don't ever want to be so old that I can't enjoy getting drunk with some mates, surrounded by Thai girls in wet t shirts whilst shooting people with a large water pistol.

No, they're still all remote-controlled or robot operated.

Same for me. I don't get Songkran week off, so I booked in a few days leave today so I can join in the fun. Probably Bangkok.

I'll be staying in Patong. It only goes on for 2 days here. Nothing like the insanity up north.

I'll be in Hua Hin and the wifes ma, pa and sister are travelling down from near Korat to join us.

As someone said elswhere - I'm a Songkran virgin!

It's also my birthday, so I'll be getting wet inside as well!

If I was in the UK, I too would have gone to Wimbledon, it's only down the road.

yes, apart from the ladyboy market.

my friend and I set up our 'office' at one of the tables at Ipanema and usually most of the applicants who turn up for employment interviews are Vietnamese or Cambodians. But you do get all sorts. Mate of mine got a Venezuelan takeaway there once.

The basement bars are still all Pinays though.

As for the Cambodians, they are actually Vietnamese pretending to be Cambodians.
Trying to differentiate themselves from their sisters...
