    What A Bad Day!

I think I've seen a thread like this somewhere but I can't find it so let's start a new one.

Yesterday my friends and I went to Pattaya. We were stopped around Bang-na by the police because of my car licence was not up-to-date, it's still 2550 which it should be 2551. I have already paid for this shit but the finance company has not sent the document to me yet. I showed him a paper that I've already paid so he said it's not issued from the government office so it meaned nothing oh c'mon! I paid it via internet, how can I get that shit? He's about to ask for 100Baht then let me go then he realized that all of my friends are not Thai then he said he didn't want foreigners to think Thai police are full of shit so he changed his mind, gave me a ticket and took my driving licence... great!

We decided to stay at Lek Hotel so after we put our stuff in the room then we went out for a walk on the beach. On the way back, while we were waiting to cross the road then an old farang guy stopped the motorbike in front of me and asked "wanna go with me tonight?" c'mon.. we were 5 girls there and he asked me!? I gave him my lovely middle finger and said "fuck off". Jeezzzzzzz....

Ok, back to the hotel for dinner buffet. It's so windy last night so while I was taking food, my skirt was up!! Damn the bladdy wind! Everyone around there looked at me like they saw something frightening and I heard someone said "Oh wow hahahahaha.." I wore g-string last night so it's not so bad though.

After dinner, we went to the night market at Thepprasit road then back for a walk at Walking street. Believe it or not, the old guy who asked me if I wanna go with him was there too and he said "Hey, I'm following you" I was so angry and said "What the fuck, man.... Piss off" then he stopped walking and we all just looked at him and said "Piss off" to him at the same time. This turned to be funny though but it's still creepy.

That happened to me yesterday. Crap...

So a foreigner approached you with a business proposition and you told him to 'piss off'.

No wonder Thailand isn't respected in the international business community, a xenophobic lot you Thais.

I have days like that sharon, well apart from the bit about foreigners approaching me for sex, although I have been keeping an eye out for the Ruskie whores down Walking Street, but even they ignore me

Though the good thing is the police cannot take your driving license.

I have been giving serious thought to actually getting a driving license, I believe this year I will do it, owning a car, and truck, and bike it is probably time I did, but fok, the theiving pigs will still want money anyway, so whats the point maybe I will....

^^ the police took my UK licence once... had to go Soi 9 and pay 200 baht to get it back the next day....

Sharon... you should try the new Hollywood for a good night out away from Walking Street.. It's up behind Big C and is a pleasant way of adding to the 'Policemans Ball Fund'...

    I like 'Good day' threads...

No, why would I? The vehicles all have the government stuff but all that is invalid if it is proved I am driving, and I aint got health insurance but my girlfriend and son have.

^ You don't need a Thai licence for insurance... You don't even need to be the registered owner as far as I understand it...

Or at least, that's what the guy trying to sell me insurance told me...

I dunno, just in case you write that little red car of yours off when doing 200kmph whist overtaking a school bus while taking a photo of your speedo so you can post the photo on TD perhaps?

Typically in Thailand you insure the car, not the driver. There may be problems claim for yourself (if you are the driver without a licence), but not for third parties.

No idea... Better to have a safety net of funds in the bank I think... especially in Thailand... Insurance probably means fvck all in most incidents....

Insurance is real good here in Thailand, I always got lucky and got away with the things I done, but in the law, someone rams you and you aint got a license then you are not insured, if the guy who rams you insurance company checks for your license he will just piss himself laughing as he walks away from you going you aint gonna get no money you monkey farang.

sounds like a good day to me,

why were you upset for so little ?

Ticket is going to be 1000THB btw, it's 500 if paid immediately at a police stop, 1000 THB if they take your license. You shouldn't have argued with him and just give him the 100 THB and go, problem solved. See that would have been a perfect day

oh, and the Lek hotel is a dump, plenty of better value hotels in that area

My policemans handbook tells me the official fine is 500 Bht for outdated reg and normally they don't ask for more than 200 bt on the spot, easliy neg to 100 bt.

Bad luck there Sharon. I sympathise but hot Thai girls climbing out of cars, or riding bikes, wearing skirts, does tend to effect the concentration. Personally, I wish that they would stick to shorts but that don't look so sexy. Next time you get an indecent proposal, try saying "Yes my Grandma lives just accross the street, you want her number?"
