Sorry if this is not the place to post this but couldn't really think of where it should go, if not here.. Mods if you think it belongs elsewhere, feel free...

I think it is pretty important for us to know about and maybe keep our eyes open..And if it's already been posted sorry about that too I didn't see anything in a search..

Mother pleas for return of missing daughter

Maria Elfversson with her daughter, Alicia, 6, who is missing and believed to be in Thailand.

Norwegian native Torgeir Nordbo (pictured) is believed to have brought Alicia to Thailand. He has been charged with abduction in Sweden.

PHUKET: Maria Elfversson, mother of missing six-year-old girl Alicia Elfversson, has offered a US$10,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information that leads to finding the missing girl.

According to Interpol’s website, Alicia was allegedly abducted by her father, Norwegian native Torgeir Nordbo, from her home in Sweden on June 4 last year. Swedish authorities have since charged Nordbo with abduction in his absence.

Alicia was last seen in Sihanoukville in Cambodia in February this year. Nordbo is believed to have brought her to Thailand.

According to a description written by Interpol a year ago, Alicia is a little over one-meter tall and has a “antenna-shaped birthmark” beside one of her ears.

Anyone with information that might help find Alicia is encouraged to contact Interpol Bangkok on 02-263 7280 or email alicia.elfversson@hotmail.com

    He IS her father!

hardly the same as the Madeleine case!

and Interpol is getting invovled in a domestic dispute here? hardly a good use of resources.

It's on the news forum, DTW.

    https://teakdoor.com/thailand-and-asi...-daughter.html

Funny how the remarks there are different to the remarks here. Different audience, I guess.

Are you trolling or are you genuinely that bitter & twisted, Smeden? This isn't about the money - she wants her daughter back.

...and he took her to Snookyville. Is that where you would want a relative to take a young child, KW?

By taking away the child, giving no word of where they are and taking her to some of the seedier places (I presume because they are where he wants to visit) he's not showing much parental responsibility & good judgement, IMHO. And this isn't a sexist thing. I have just as low an opinion of the mother of the girl that was killed in Goa as I do of this father. As a parent, your first responsibility is to your kids, not to doing what you want.

i think you are making a judgment here about his motives, he may well be living a clean life there...

Jeeze, when I think of what I would go through if someone (even one of his relatives) snatched my little boy & I had no word of him, if he was OK, if he was scared, where he was, whether he could eat his favourite food, a million other things that are probably going through this poor woman's mind now about her daughter & you think she's only worried about her child support? Wow, sometimes you guys can be so bitter about Western women that you really do lose all perspective.

I know the father is Swedish but is the mother British? The little girl was born in the UK and has dual nationality.

Investigating the kidnapping of a child who may be in danger is hardly a waste of resources.

Pathetic sweeping generalisation of something that anyone but the most moronic of people would believe to be true.

As you did in you previous 'holiday' statement.

Nice to see that they found young Shannon Mathews alive and well in the North of England yesterday, she had been missing for 24 days and was found imprisoned in a house close by to where she lives, seems she was unharmed thankfully.

My purpose for the OP is because this little girl is officially missing and presumed kidnapped and brought to another country which is why Interpol is involved as they should be....That's their job.. No waste of resources...He's no less a kidnapper than any other kidnapper they seek..

Speaking as a father, and victim of a divorce. The fact that he is the father says nothing about the child's or the mothers rights. This is a court decision and that's where he needs to fight it.

IMO there is no reason to bring a child over here in a case like this, snatched from her mothers arms and removed from a modern country, to a third world hell hole and entirely different culture, except for his selfish escape attempt and there is no benefit to the child being in this environment compared to where she came from..Not one..

Parenting is a 2 way street, neither parent should be excluded from the child's life unless one of them is also abusive and irresponsible in their role..Bottom line is if he needs to fight this or be close to his daughter then take her back and deal with it properly or stay there close enough to be in her life no matter what, like I currently do..

I don't live comfortably like the majority of people on here do.. I'm making huge personal sacrifices to be here for my family and am in essence trapped by those sacrifices at the moment with no visable way out for any of us. But I'm still here fighting for them and me.. So I have NO sympathy what-so-ever for selfish cnuts like this SOB. He deserves to be in jail and I just wish I could find the bstard myself so I could get my own family out of our current circumstances in one piece while returning this little girl to her mother where she morally and legally belongs, regardless of others personal feelings about him..

I would also add that, does anyone here really know if it is mentioned that this father was doing any abusing of this little girl, sexual or otherwise?? I'm not incriminating, just enquiring, since this is the first I've heard of this case and some of you seem to have more history on it..
Bottom line it's not for us to make those judgements just to help in getting this little girl back home..

NR glad it is posted there too, it can't hurt to have it posted in more locations IMO since it will just bring it more exposure and no one can peruse all of the threads all the time, plus it is time sensitive..

Is this the young girl that was abducted after leaving the swimming pool?? I hadn't heard anything..Good news then eh?? It was noted how very little mention was even made compared to the Maddie case..

CNN is only reporting on some minor tornado that blew through downtown Atlanta breaking some glass but they are acting like it was on par with hurricane Katrina.

It was the Dad. Some consolation
You hear of Thai gangs who abduct kids, sever a limb or maim them and put them out on streets as beggars. Might be an urban myth, but the gf thinks its true enough.

Sorry, DTW. I don't know if you mean me when asking if there is any evidence that the girl is being abused, but if so - I didn't mean that for a second. I was only questioning whether the lifestyle in some of these places is suitable for a child.

So did my BF. There have been cases of kids going missing from this general area in the last couple of years. I don't let littl'un out of my sight.

Me either my boys are quite handsome (take that how you want, it's not just my opinion) with that light skin etc. etc. and I'm frankly virtually paranoid almost all the time..

I wasn't necessarily directing that question at you NR. It was in general if anyone knew? And really has not all to do with the kidnapping save for the fact that it would be an even worse circumstance and that aspect wasn't being considered in all of the other conflicting responses..
