Shooting a rat

I have a rat or mouse living up here on the 4th floor, he is stealing my food, so tomorrow I shall go out and buy one of those cages that catches them, I am then going to shoot the bugger as an example for all other rats, not sure what will be left of it if I get it good with a .38, not a lot I should imagine, foking dirty animals.....

I hope it's not a cheap Brazilian Rossi or something.

huh, it is a legally owned .38 stainless smith and wesson, bout time it got put to some use as i have never fired the poxy thing, lets see what it can do to little mousey

actually thinking about it my local area is now a bit too built up to go shooting guns off, before I had my girlfriend shooting it out of the back of the building at people and the police never minded, now its all a nice little village so may not go down so well, hell I remember her running round the back which was like jungle then hunting down a dog that bit her white fluffy dog.
So it's either take the rat down to my land to be executed by gun, or, think of a better death for him....

It's a clean legal gun, why would we sell it? Might get a nice semi auto at a later date, but that is a nice easy one for the girlfriend to use.

Yes, a .38 revolver, especially a short nose, is the best weapon for a woman to use, apart from perhaps a .22 Beretta, but the revolver is the best, much easier and mistake proof.

Keep it for her...Unless you want to sell it, bring it to Korat.

Nothing wrong with keeping loaded guns in the car, but the temptation to shot the idiots on the road would be too great, the trail of shot up lorries and suvs on the journey to korat would hit the newspapers and tv, probably best not to

You can buy them in Bangkok, we bought ours from the gunshop in Chonburi, he don't have much of a selection though, then again we weren't looking for a fashion item, although I would like a glock

which would sit in the wardrobe probably for years on end, yeah, does seem a waste of time.

Yeah, but it's a Goddamn hassle if i ever saw one. Jesus, the papers, and the hassles, and over a million Baht in deposits for a legal handgun. Tell me if I'm wrong, but it's nearly impossible to buy one like this.

*And about 5,000 Baht on the black market.

I should do a thread on getting a Thai gun license, way too difficult to get in a foreigners name, but every Thai is entitled to own one to protect their home and possessions, most people I know get their guns in their maids name.

1) just drop the trap - complete with contents - into a bucket of water

2) walk out into the street with the trap when there a few soi dogs in the area - open the trap and stand back !!

I use both but the second is more fun !!!

Just after my house was finished, I had, what I thought were bats in my ceiling. I was mad as fukc. The noise started daily right after sundown and lasted for about an hour. In my infinite wisdom, I immediately assumed bats.

I had an idea where they were coming in and set up blankets and a video camera with lights. I wanted to catch the bastards and tell my builder to fix the problem.
(Sitting in your new living room listening to animals tread across your ceiling is not a comfortable experience.

After two nights (4 hours of filming, I had nothing. No goddamn bats. My neighbor/builder said it was probably a mouse/rat. I set a trap on a balcony and the very next morning --- a big-enough-to-stew mouse!

Bingo. problem solved and my neighbor/builder laughing a gutfull.

Haven't heard a peep out of either ceiling since -- 8 months ago.

Guns --- mmm, maybe a bit overkill.

A quick rundown.
The Thai person has to have been on the house papers for a year, this they will alter for you if you give them a small gift or a 1,000baht.
Reason for owning a gun has to be clearly explained, ie scared of theft.
List of shite that you own that comes to like half a million baht, including house furnishings, cars,, pumps etc, ie whatever you want.
Bit of dosh in the bank, maybe 200,000baht, probably less will be ok.
A gaurontor, hmmm spelt that wrong, but anyway some Thai in good standing to say what a great chap your maid/wife/whatever is.

and you will be the proud owner of a piece of paper that says you can buy a gun, then go buy a gun, give them back all the paperwork and you then get issued a license for that gun for life.

The killing is only a problem if you can't prove that it was a life threatening situation in your own house, ie they got to have that big fok off carving knife next to their dead body that they were threatening you with.

^Yes, Thai civilians do get a lot more leeway. Farangs do not. Farangs are not supposed to be in possesion of lethal weapons by definition of the law. Every case will go against a farang with a legal weapon.

There are many different varitions of legalality, your local police chief can issue you with a permit to carry, even though you may not have a gun license.
