Never liked Elvis, another Mickey IMHO.
Looks gay.
I think Elvis was very overrated.
^ Agreed.
No!
Elvis was the King.
Elvis still is the King.
Apparently Elvis has been reincarnated as a sperm whale. They know it's him because his suit still fits him.

I must concede, Elvis didn't write many of his hits. And one of his greatest hit was copied from a french singer.

I can sort of understand why in his younger days women went for him. If I live to be a five hundred I will never understand why straight men liked him so much. I think there was so many much more talented people around at the same time.
A hunk A hunk a' burnin' love.
^^ Do you know it's not allowed to edit quotes ?
DD reminded me the only time I made it.
Doesn't age well. Voice awful.
In terms of Music Icons - my humble opinion is Eric Clapton will be remembered as contributing more than Elvis.
^ Agreed, Elvis is a kind of fetishist thing.
Give me Zappa, Hendrix, Clapton everyday,,,but not Elvis, or maybe the Costello one.
I think when you think of Elvis, you have to think of him in phases, and compare him against contemporaries in those phases.
Early phase: compare him with Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, and the other early greats. He wins on mass appeal.
Middle period. He became a movie star. Made lots of beach blanket bingo hits and compare him with the other movies. He wins.
Music wise, he continues to mature as does his fan base.
Later phase: Call it the bloated phase. Las Vegas cheap classless glitz. Compare him with Any of the other Vegas acts, including Wayne Newton, etc.. Maybe a draw.
Overall, he wins as the King.
never been too fussed by Elvis i can take it or leave it but i do enjoy annoying the die hard fans.
At least he could sing, damn sight better than any of the crap that is around now. Way too bad his managers and shit staff let him die to put money in their pockets.
According to this movie he is alive and well and living in a nursing home with John F Kennedy.
Didn't reckon much to Bubba Ho Tep.
I think Bruce Campbell should stick to this stuff:-
Now that is what I call a horror movie
Watched that 28 Weeks Later tonight. Not very impressed. The chaotic cinematography made the whole thing a bit confusing for me.
Recalls a very famous quote:
"Elvis has left the shophouse."
