Same shit, different year.
Had the same thing happen a few yrs back. Luclily my bank back home was still using my address when I was 16, My family home. sent there. Family sent it to BKK. 5 working days.
Use a courier service when weve sent pictures to the in laws always seem to go missing via the postal service
Lloyds only do DHL @ 35 GBP a time !!!
I agree that you should get it sent to family back home then they forward it to you (using normal mail).
Not sure if it is bank specific, but with my last card renewal I had to send back a confirmation letter to the bank to say that I had received the card before it was 'activated', so you may have an extra delay. I have had cards sent from the UK before and used registered mail, i.e. it had to be signed for before delivery. Just to be safe I made sure that there wasn't much money at risk.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!
Roll a 1,3,5 - Registered Mail
Roll a 2,4,6......
International Registered Mail.
Get a small piece of cardboard and cut out and small indent big enough for the card so that it doesn't poke out. Put a bit of paper over the top of it and write a letter on it.
Send that in an envelope.
Nobody can feel it.
^thats how my last card came from Barclays!
Mine have been sent by that USPS priority mail in the like next day envelope for $12.00,, and goes from bank to my mail address and is sent by my friend.
Makes it here in 4 or 5 days.
All my cards have been delivered by mail to my US address, and my friend puts them,Credit Cards or ATM cards, in that envelope and mails, so far everything got here OK.

Most banks want to have the card activated by phone. I had my last ATM card mailed to my sister & then had my nephew call in to activate it! They then Fedexed it to me here in Thailand.
Had some visa documents sent from the UK by Royal Mail registered, secure and trackable worlwide option recently.... Cost about 50 quid!..
USPS registered mail is only registered within the US. have lost mail coming in this way. EMS is tracked world-wide, relatively inexpensive and reliable. have never lost mail coming in with EMS.
The best long term method is to contract with one of the UPS Store (some are still called Mail Boxes Etc.), to have them collect all your mail. Then, have it forwarded to you as needed. They have all the Fed Ex, DHL, UPS etc., accounts to get your card. You then activate it by phone from Thailand.
Simple, long term solution, and easy. You just re-up your contract with them year by year. You contact them by email. Easy.
