A Bangkok guide to a newbie in less than 100 words...

A mate is visiting Bangkok for 4 or 5 days, with some other mates - all male. he lives here in Jkt with me, so he knows the ropes...

what should he/they do?

where should they go?

they are staying at the Asia hotel (i warned him not, but he didnt make the booking)

I was thinking maybe top 10 places to visit or things to do / not do .....

1. skip all the crap visit temples and wats thingy...

2. the ABC bike ride although more expensive is still a pretty cool thing to do

3. do we need to mention Nana & Cowboy?

4. Sirroccos State tower for a drink... awesome view

5. Taling Chan markets for a feed and drink, catch a long tail boat to get there

6. Collesium - just to experience a thai style disco

7. maybe pattaya ... but i think bangkoks better

8. Lumpini stadium

9. JJ weekend market

10. Jim thompson house

You can make all the lists you want, but what will happen is that he hooks up with a bargirl on day 1 and she will show him around for the next few days.

You can get the same thing lots cheaper in Beer Garden Soi 7, if you just ask some of the freelancers. No barfine, and PB hotel 3 hours is cheap.
