I have a small collection of amulets that have been accumulated over the years and often wear one as a good luck charm.
How about some of the other folks here?
Anyone sport one of those huge obnoxious Jatukam's ?

come on, tits, perk up your game.
Never wore one and thought farang who did were geeky wannabees. "Oh, I'm Buddhist." Ya, right.
Why wear a charm or amulet? Lose it and you think your life is over.
I received a few of these necklaces from monks. I said thank you and gave them away to Thai people who needed help. I don't want some unknown spirit looking after me. Got my own angels, and I don't need to wear a charm to coax them into helping me. Reminds me of that Jolie chick and her feking Buddhist tattoos. Bad luck.

Sounds a bit psychotic if you can say this with so much certainty.
I wear the amulet not because of any pretense, but because the very real uncertainty of life. I hedge my bets when I can. No one knows for sure what awaits any of us.
I see buddhism as something that offers something constructive in this life. If you live here in Thailand and fail to see that then you're missing one of the rich facets of life here.
I like it because Thai buddhism can be worn very loosely. It's comfortable. Why the hell not.
Got a few of em lying around. Actually keep one in my hand luggage when i'm travelling - it keeps the wife happy. Other than that no, don't wear one.
^That reminds me, my wife put one in the glove box in my truck last year. I haven't killed any motorcyclists since, so it must be working.
