In defense of Vans, the are a cool (temperature wise) slip on alternative to flip flops. Much preferable to flip flops around a lot of people and especially good shoes for wet markets.

I was surprised they are so expensive, for what is basically just a pair of plimsolls.

I'll have nothing bad said about Vans.
