I watched the 1st 40 minutes of the US Army 250th birthday parade
Everyone knows the US Army is the biggest baddest military on the planet so the thought of them doing a military parade seems a bit cringey at first.
But the first part was quite good. More of a museum tour of the US army from 1775 with each section in uniform of the period.
1st world war
2nd world war
Lots of hardware that I could tick off from my museum as it rolled past.
B25 Mitchell with P-47 fighters.
It has been quite good so far so I will probably watch the whole thing.
I think reminding people of the history of military valour and sacrifice is a worthy activity as a remedy to several decades of negative revisionism of Western endeavour.
Today's citizens should understand the prices that have been paid in lives to build Western democracy, the greatest social system devised so far.
This is it if anybody has 2 hours and 57 minutes to spare
If they do another one they should go back to the Greco-Persian wars and the Peloponnesian wars and the roots of democracy
