The Official Brits in the News Thread

Two British holidaymakers have been accused of doing a runner from their cruise liner to dodge a massive bill. The pair were held on suspicion of fraud at Ibiza Airport on Wednesday.

They allegedly left the ship - the exact cruise line has not yet been named - "in a hurry" when it docked on the holiday island beloved by Brits. A spokesman for the National Police in Ibiza revealed yesterday they had been accused of attempting to wriggle out of paying a bill totalling £2,685.

The force said: “On Wednesday Spanish National Police officers arrested a man aged 23 and a woman aged 18 who are both British as the suspected authors of a crime of fraud for refusing to pay several consumptions during their stay on board a cruiser liner

why would this story, about a minor offence equivalent to shoplifting, and that has no relation to thailand, any expat living in thailand or any one thinking of travelling to thailand, be of any interest to this forum, you barrel bottom scraping idiot.

and if you are going to post stories of this nature, at least have the decency and common sense to include photos of perpetrators so that teak doors more astute and aware posters are able to add suitably relevant comments thereby giving your bore fest threads some much needed legs.

    Almost £3,000? Hardly minor.

And there is a common denominator here…there’s a clue in the title.

    But are they real Brits?

Perhaps their skin is the wrong colour, or their religion is the wrong one, or their ancestors actually came from north of Hadrian's wall!!

In Ibiza that will get you a couple of sun loungers for the day , two tickets into a club a round of drinks and a kebab on the way home.

    Indeed, Nev!

As the video shows, a number of young English men and women became a little boisterous at the opportunity to visit an island that they had obviously fallen in love with for its clean living reputation.

Beyond one or two of the more exuberant, I see no harm.

Excellent thread. I'm surprised DrWilly doesn't have some English heritage I thought I had seen a bit of the Duke of Sussex in DrWilly.
