2007 Teakdoor Thread of the Year

Having been a member here for exactly a year now, I have seen a fair few number of threads come & go. I have also seen the same old threads doing the rounds more than once, too, but as days pass, TD attracts new members & this is to be expected.

I have contributed a fair bit to TD. My total post count is 3540, of which around 3500 have been utter tripe, but those remaining posts have been enjoyed by at least some of us, which is what I believe - apart from conversational posts - TD is all about.

It is with that enjoyment in mind, that I have created this thread.

What have been the best threads you have seen on TD this year? Is the exhilarating Red the Person Above You, by CMN? How about Jet's mind-blowingly fantastic Finger Food? Both, surely, potential winners of any thread of the year contest?

Don't worry if you don't see your favourite thread of the year on the list, as I have a cunning plan. I propose, that instead of not giving this thread a second thought, that you take a moment to dig up your favourite thread of 2007 & post a link to it on here. This way, we can all enjoy it & share the experience of having many great threads, all in one place.

I can't be the only one who wades through mountains of shit to find a decent read nowadays.

Let's move on to the contenders.

    Shitman

    https://teakdoor.com/members-famous-t...ou-decide.html

Despite a shaky start to life on TD, with a bit of a mental breakdown & crack habit thrown in for good measure, the boy came good, in the end. This thread is a gritty, real-life & legally documented account of a man's life in the balance & the sort of stuff I don't think TD had seen before & will probably never see again.

    DD

    https://teakdoor.com/the-eastern-thai...hing-park.html

Only the very best threads do we expect to see from the landlord of TD. This one is amazing. It includes pictures & even a video attachment of a fishing park in Pattaya. The only slight criticism you may have with this thread, is that there are no fish in the fishing park, but leaving all that to one side, surely this is a contender for thread of the year?

    Clockwork Orange

    https://teakdoor.com/thailands-travel...-my-story.html (My Story)

Created out of a general dislike of Richard Littlejohn on TD, CO managed to lay on one of the most highly-viewed threads of this year, totally out of the blue. If he had known so many people were interested in his story, I'm sure he would have shared it with us sooner.

    Kingwilly

    https://teakdoor.com/the-sports-room/...-vs-india.html

A livewire member of TD, known for creating fantastic threads, such as this one about cricket. With a massive fourteen views & one reply, this thread just has to be included, in the interests of balance & all that.

Those, dear readers, are your options.

If you don't see anything you like, please add below a link to one that you believe to be worthy of the title -

2007 Teakdoor Thread of the Year.

Wayne Kerr has done some fantastic photo threads! Will try to dig up my favorite one.

    Here is his Issan journey.

    Wayne Kerr`s - Outback adventures

Tsicar also produces some threads with an amusing slant to them.

    I voted none.

    Shitman's is a close second,

DD's is informative and all, as many of his "report" threads are, but ultimately, the success and popularity of this kind of place comes down to the community that frequents it.

Everybody has got their own story, and some can tell it better than others, always worthy of a read.

    The ashes...??
    I didn't bother reading on

My nomination is actually, in true oscar style, a recent release:
See this link here to understand why... OP!

I was going to include that one, but I thought it would be vein to punt threads of my own.

Well done to anybody who voted/posted/paste or whatever.

I thought it seemed like a good thread idea but it seems to have gone flat.
