^ At least I'm not passing on a Brummie accent to my offspring!

(you wouldn't laugh if you saw a picture of my foot... I was four days in hospital followed by two weeks of daily visits for anti-biotic IV drip. After a battle with Bupa they have accepted liability but I can see why that guy in New York did what he did).

^^ Nid, you are putting my fish pics to shame but I betchya can't compete with this one... unless you've been sat diving!

Another pic of a deep water rabbit fish showing off it's big pectoral fins to full effect!

Why didn't you share this with us? We are all friends on here and as you say no one would find it funny.

Why did Yogi turn? What were you doing with your foot at the time? Did Yogi need any antibiotics after biting your club foot?

Would be interesting to hear about it.

I'm at that age where I'm starting to think about getting some.

Plus I have an issue with me flank that hasn't been able to get diagnosed as yet and I want to get health insurance to cover it when it does.

^ That's true. I picked up three tins of mushy peas and two tins of marrow fat peas to go with three fillets of cod at Korat Chef this morning, as it happens!

See how I kept that on topic!

We often see these big ling rolling in the sediment on the seabed, and they are apparently trying to remove parasites from their skin.

I guess it's the fish equivalent of rubbing your crotch against a door frame to try and relieve the itching?

Of all the things I might want to rub my crotch against, the door frame has never made it onto that list.

I once saw Kristin Scott Thomas play Hedda Gabler in London. Since then she has been an itch I'd like to scratch. She'd be in the top ten.

I'd Hedda or gabbler too, she was red hot in Slow Horses if you haven't seen the excellent Uk series with Gary Oldman reprising her role from Gosford park in modern setting!

Sooner a tired fucker than some fried tucker, the chips are down.

Thank you for shots of the deep, are you allowed to line fish when off duty, knowing where the fish lurk is a good start, or all blocked by elf n safety?

^ No fishing allowed, any more. Another avenue of pleasure closed off by HSE.

An erect sea slug, having a little look around.

I think this could be the Orange Peel Nudibranch, a grand name for a slug.

These guys are toxic and we sometimes see fish pick them up, hoping for a quick meal and then rapidly spit them out again shaking their heads. A bit like watching the dogs messing with toads in the garden.

And after an internet search, I think this white, stringy mass could be the Orange Peel Nudibranch's eggs.

    You live and learn.

In my diving days, always loved a good nudibranch. Astonishingly beautiful, for slugs.

Interestingly, my dogs have learned to ignore the toads completely. They'll chase almost anything that moves, including a scorpion today, but yesterday evening the dogs were dancing around outside when CWMS came in from work and a toad in the middle of the outdoor kitchen floor drew no interest at all. In fact it was lucky not to be to have been trampled in the chaos.
