Naaaah. I don't always need to be surrounded by people. Having traveled all over the world working for various companies, you ask the bell captain where is a good bar and you go alone to enjoy a few. Sometimes you want the ambience, a nice bevvy or 2 and many times you start talking with others to make it an evening.
The master of c+p forked up there.
Not forgetting Lolitas for discerning mongers. Yes yer slippers tend to stick to the carpet but the piss is cold and the staff are easy to get along with. And as an added bonus it smells reassuringly of Dettol.happy days
I miss the get togethers, we used to have with the Ajarners, many of them being Aussies and Brits..
there was a bar we went to a few times on Khao San road, an Irish bar which had live music. Always a good time! I even met ao at one time! I'd be up for meeting up in Bangkok sometime.
Its a nice day drinking pub David. theyve maintain that kind of 1940s-50s layout and feel. Lots of little rooms. Its very Central too.
The Adelphi | Leeds
Its a grand old building, and the interiors are evocative (not as much as the Phil in Liverpool).
Also had some good visits there.
beers good too, and not full of Leeds Mad Heads
we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...
Det5 is great for day drinking also.
The roof of O'Sheas is a welcome addition.
Agree not bad for BKK, prob with daytime outoors for me is the smoke, noise and pollution, but if your a smoker prob doesn't make much difference. I have prob been all farang pubs over the years the one in Convent Rd which has had various names ok, Sportsman had a fair pint of Guinness for thicj end of 300-350 last time I supped.
Gone but you could hardly call it a bar as just stools on a pavement was the famous late Cheap Charlies off Soi 11 where I had the pleasure to meet Hooter in person an extraordinary character as witty in real life as online. Great location with fine NZ seafood, Tapas and many other pleasures in a little trok off soi 11that has sadly been "improved".
Cheap Charlies moved to onnut but it's basically a parody of itself now.
i liked the old det 5 in Buckskin Joe's/ Soi Zero
new one is more civilized
She's late fifties and has spent about 5 years out of mooseville, was probably the point.
Oh god, I was replying to Joe, Armstrong. I don’t date married men. Plus, not looking to date people on this forum.
Mulligans was the bar I was thinking about which is famous on Khao San.
Most folks on alarm forum were nice and accepted me as a friend even though they were married. I could keep up to them in drinking (the ones I met)
.. now not so much.
Anyhoo.. carry on.
fvck off Cy
